Kubota l4100 with a LA680 loader. Cylinder Part # 75556-63110 . Tried to have it rebuilt but there's an issue with the rod. Messicks price is just under $800. Anyone have any suggestions...aftermarket....used. Hate to drop $800 on 1 cylinder.
The quote to repair the current one is $500-600. vs new one around $800. Sounds like the rod is rusted.Find another rebuild shop! A good shop can make a new rod at a reasonable cost, I'd think.
What is the issue with the rod? I've had rods with a bend in them straightened and used for years. Had rods with small bits of rust in surface polished and still using after many years.
Get a bid on fixing what you have and compare it to new.
Ill give them a call and see if they have replacement. It looks like the one end of the original is machined and that may make it difficult to replace with aftermarket. ThanksI have had good luck with Bailey International
Pucture of the OEM cylinder and rod ends.Ill give them a call and see if they have replacement. It looks like the one end of the original is machined and that may make it difficult to replace with aftermarket. Thanks
This does work, also dribble some coke cola while rubbing. Vinegar may do also as it's an acid.Something that will take rust off of chrome is aluminum foil waded up in a ball tightly and simply rubbed on the rusted area!
