You might wanna stay away from true silicones if you might want to touch up the paintwork sometime. They don't play to well together sometimes.

I'm lazy and look for something like a wash and wax in one. Blue Corral makes a nice wash and wax in one and leaves a helluva shine behind when the job is done.

I used Turtle Wax ice on my L3650 when it went up for sale. It is nice because it doesn't leave a powder haze in the hard-to-get-to places.

It can be used on plastic and rubber as well.

Most any wax or polish will do. As far as touching up paint, you would want to remove any residue anyway before applying paint, so I don't see a wax that should be avoided. Just whatever you have sitting around.

I like zymol. Goes on easy and comes off even better. It really makes the orange shine. Like Eric said the blue corral wash and wax does a nice job the rest of the year.

What he said. I've used TW Ice on my truck for 2 years now. Easy on, easy off. No white stuff left behind even on black plastic.

When I got my new tractor last week I washed the whole thing and waxed the tractor hood and fenders with Ice. Took me all of 10 minutes.

Yeah, I know....the tire shine was a bit over the top.:D
