What goes up dont come down

I got my loader installed on my 94 b7100hst. I can go up but it wont come down. I used the block that was already tapped for preasure line. Both lines were attached to the block but did the same thing so i built the return. I have pressure in both positions on both levers and my 3 point no longer works
Can it be a bad valve assemblyor wrong style?

Its incorrect plumbing. To start with you have the pump pressure port diverted but the return port next to it is plugged. Thats obviously wrong.

How about a simple sketch of your valve connection to the tractor And the model number of your valve.

I have pressure in both lever positions. I did before thats why i plugged the other port and did the return line to trans thinking that i had pressure in both lines. I dont know the valve make. Only has "byd" cast in. Its an old johnson loader

The block in picture two is basically just a way to divert the flow.

You have the flow going this way currently: pump to block, out of the block to the hose, through hose to the valve, through the valve and into the hose from the valve and then into the transmission.

You should have the power beyond from the valve going to the other side of the block to provide flow to the three point lift. That will dump into the transmission. From the valve a tank return goes to the transmission fill port to drain the fluid from the cylinder as it extends or retracts.

Are there any letters on the valve ports?

You should have the power beyond from the valve going to the other side of the block to provide flow to the three point lift. That will dump into the transmission. From the valve a tank return goes to the transmission fill port to drain the fluid from the cylinder as it extends or retracts.

Are there any letters on the valve ports?

The line you have connected to the block supplies pressure to the inlet port on the loader valve. You MUST return that pressure to the other port on the hydraulic block.

Your valve should have more than one outlet port.

One should be labeled T for tank. That port goes to the return you added to the transmission.

The "byd" cast into the valve sounds like it is identifying the power beyond port which is the other outlet port. That is the port that should go back to the hydraulic block.

In all you should have three hoses going between the valve and the tractor. Post some pictures showing the ports on your valve and any identifying marks.

There is only 2 hose connections on the valve. The hose ports are labled A,B on the left C,D on the right
OK - your valve does not have a power beyond port. The boss is there but its not been drilled. The OUT port MUST go back to the hydraulic block.

Make that change and tell us what you are getting. At a minimum your 3pt should now work.

See my earlier reply. I dont see any signs of a relief valve in that loader valve. Post a better picture of the inlet side. If no pressure relief that valve is not suitable for use on your tractor and you are flirting with destroying the pump.

That valve appears to be the same Cessna valve (long out of production) that is used on B219 loaders.
(like mine) The B219 uses a crankshaft driven separate pump, not the internal hydraulic pump. It uses the RH upright for a reservoir. There is a line from the reservoir to the inlet side of the pump, another from the outlet of the pump to the inlet of the valve. Then a line from the outlet side of the valve back to the reservoir.
I agree with Dan, the outlet of the valve should go back to the hydraulic block. I can't see it working any other way.

If I remember right, there is a valve under the seat that allows the 3pt to work or the FEL to work when the FEL is run off the internal pump. I don't know for sure because mine isn't plumbed that way.

Using the hydraulic outlet block puts that old valve in series with the 3pt. The valve is a vanilla open center valve and with the tank return connected to the return port on the hydraulic outlet block he is using tank as power beyond. That will allow the 3pt to operate normally but it places full pump pressure on the tank port which will prevent the pressure relief in the loader valve from operating when the 3pt valve is shifted. There is a real potential for over pressuring the pump and destroying it.

He probably has the cylinders miss plumbed as well because they should not be stuck up with the tank port connected to the transmission as he currently has it. That totally removes the 3pt from the circuit but the loader should work fine.

My advice is to get the current plumbing fixed then spend $135 and replace that old valve with one with a real power beyond.


Or better yet spend $135 more and get one with a joystick and float on the loader. Both excellent upgrades.

OK - your valve does not have a power beyond port. The boss is there but its not been drilled. The OUT port MUST go back to the hydraulic block.

I put the outlet from the controls to the block and no difference.
