How this referral scam works:
It's normally a is a member (usually fairly new) says hey I heard of a guy / girl that has XWY part your looking for, or he /she will buy your ABC, here is his/ her info.
Then several things can happen,
#1 They will either get you to email them info, and through a series of steps they will gain access to your email and lock you out.
#2 They will do a really good job at "Selling" you what your looing for, they are good at looking up and finding pictures of what you want then convince you , usually via way too good to be true pricing, that the part they have is exactly what your looking for.
It works because people are conditioned to think if your referred to someone or something by someone, then it's got to be worth looking into, and it should be safe as it's a referral.
