Added 2” rear wheel extensions and ballast to the B26. Significantly better stability on our hillside farm. Wife is good at going slow and using seat belt when mowing. 4 post ROPS and remove bucket when mowing. Low and slow carrying anything in the FEL. Good to be scared. Keeps you upright.
So its more stable to take the FEL off when traveling up and down a steep slope?

I like the loader on. I have some very steep parts. Both TLB FELs don’t come off. Can remove SSQA buckets. When finish mowing with the B26 usually have bucket off for weight and clearance issues. Important to keep loader low and drag if you need to on rough ground.

Lots of good advice about how to setup and operate your equipment. One more idea: fix the potholes on your hillside! You have a loader. If you spent a couple weekends filling in the holes (as many as you can), you'll at least have reduced your exposure to some degree. Several acres will take time but if you chip away at it, eventually you'll have a tolerably even hillside that is safer.

Tennessee is the sinkhole capital of world. Have a couple over an acre in area and 40’ deep. The farm was a 1,000 acres land grant from your great territory of NC way back. Original log cabin still standing.

Old timers told of stories of using logs as benches in the sinkholes to gather and play music. Good acoustics. Even with big trees in and around reluctant to drive my tractor in.

Smaller holes routinely appear.

Keeping the FEL as low as possible whether loaded or not is not just an idea, it's a requirement.

Carry a bundle of wooden stakes/markers to identify each low spot until they are filled. Conducting a through walk-thru before green up will identify many possible hazards.

Yes, I am experienced with turning both a motorcycle and a tractor over.
