Getting stuck

Don't ever let anyone tell you that it's hard to get a
4 wheel drive Kubota stuck cause I'm here to tell you
that it can be done. I was digging out a creekbank with
the FEL on my L3800 when the bank gave way. Sunk
my front end to the bottom of the tractor. Thank goodness
for FEL's. Raised the front end off the ground with the FEL
and put rocks under the wheels then just backed off. Worked
like a charm.
I'm really enjoying this tractor. Got my first food plot plowed
and planted. Got 6 more to go that will take a little longer
to get ready.

Oh yeah, they can get stuck.

The first two pics are very similar to your situation, I was crossing the creek at the bottom of my property and underestimated the depth and firmness of the mud. The tractor grounded out in slop and it took a combination of the Hilux (Tundra?) on wire mesh and the FEL bucket to finally get it out.

The last pic is a full bucket of mud and a forgotten and soggy cable trench.
I was still new to the tractor and had to have it pulled out, I think now I'd be able to get it out, maybe.

Glad I'm not the only one. Yours looked a lot like mine did.

Many of the larger payloaders have gone to a Z-bar linkage, single center cylinder, for bucket roll which is very fast but won't provide enough force to be able to pry yourself out of a stuck situation using the loader bucket. I was ticked pink when I discovered my Kubota's bucket could roll back and be used to propel the tractor backwards if necessary.

I am allways being told similar things like " its fine, you wont get stuck in there " its all lies i can tell you.
just because they have 4 wheel drive, it doesnt mean they are unstoppable all the time.

I have the complete range of ground condition here , wet clay, boggy swampy areas, very high water table in winter and desert like condition in summer.
I still get stuck on my both my small kubotas, with ags and turfs, extraction is becoming a daily event at present, hence why i have fitted a winch to both tractors.
Just in case there is nothing nearby to hook onto, i have a ground spike that i can use to provide a tempory pulling point.

You weren't stuck. Anytime you "rest" it for a bit but are able to drive it home without having to call in another piece of equipment you weren't stuck. The job just took a little longer than planned.

I second the FEL comment. I have found it handy several times to "assist" the 4x4 traction system. Also handy for front tire flats.

Congratulations on getting your self out. As any 4 wheeler will tell you its time to check for water contamination in front axle, trans etc..

To unstick any tractor with a loader weather its 2wd or 4wd. Roll the bucket down apply ground pressure, lift the front end up a bit and put the tractor in reverse. Slowly back up while you curl the bucket out and between you backing up and rolling the bucket back you'll get free.

Depends on how bad you get stuck. The loader was no help here.

My boy said he didn't spin, the tractor just sat down in the mud. Looks a little funny to me.

If you had the bucket on there Jr might have been able to wiggle out.

The box scrape was sunk down some. That was lifted to full height in the pic. The loader wouldn't lift the front end up any. Even the sub frame was under the mud. I'll give him credit, when he sticks one he goes all out.

If I was to get stuck this is how I'd get it done, and need a crane to get me out!

I like that. You're right, I wasn't stuck, just took
a little longer than I planned on

Have determined that when fully planted a backhoe is the only way to go.

I've stumbled more than once into soft spots--one noteable where a sandboil had come out the side of pond dam.

Planted the machine solid onto the frame all the way around. Not going anywhere fast and no self-extrication.

Latched on with a winch truck and no matter how strong the frame is didn't like the idea of dragging in ground contact and plowing with wheels and undercarraige straight ahead until hit firm soil---especially in this case as tractor was slightly above truck on the dam.

Found backhoe worked better as could 'lift up' while pulling. Believe this way is much more gentle on tractor and my worries about tearing something up even worse by dragging.
