some will argue no, after all, dull bushhog blades 'cut'.....

seems you've 'lost' 1/2 the 'lift wings' so maybe it IS time to replace.....

BTW never understood the term 'zero turn'. Doen't that mean you can only cut grass in a straight line ?? ;)

The CPSC has rules regarding blade speed and blade brakes, but they make no mention about the cheap junk thin material they are made of.

Probably going to show my ignorance here but do my zero turn blades need to be replaced?
Yes. Those are worn out. No way to return to anything close to original profile on cutting edge or lift wing. Replace them.

And being in Newport I suspect your whole yard is sand so as others suggested maybe consider low lift blades.

Come on Jay, a "0" turn is simply a double "U" turn! ;)

Perhaps the name “zero turn” implies that it can turn 360° on its own footprint? It can!
I sprung for one of those “ALL AMERICAN” blade sharpening systems last year and used it once. Amazing how sharp and well balanced my blades were on my Kubota Z422! First nice day I get here in NH I will be re-Istalling the battery, and servicing it for the upcoming season. Can’t wait to see what it looks like under the deck after one mowing season…

I do live in a sandy area of North Carolina and the mower and blades only have 90 hours.... I have nice stand of grass but in talking to neighbors this area is tough on mower blades.. The new one should be here today....
