I couldn’t find the thread where I learned about this Temu online Chinese mail order place. I guess what I remember is something that somebody posted in an unrelated thread.

Anyway, I will admit that I shop at Walmart occasionally. Rarely only because there’s no Walmart close to me. Looking at some of the pictures you see online of Walmart shoppers, I guess I might fit in.

Anyway after hearing about Temu here at OTT, I looked it up online and decided to try it. I don’t have high expectations when it comes to buying cheap Chinese stuff, but I do expect it to be serviceable and a good value for the price.

To make a long story short, I ordered some things twice and what I found is for the price the value is there, for me anyway, probably about the same level as harbor freight. But cheaper most of the time and delivered to your door with free shipping.

Don’t mean this is sound as an advertisement for them or anything like that. I just wanted to say that I tried it, seems to be a fair value, and if anybody wants to dump products that work for me in my pocket for Low prices I guess I’m willing to take them.

Just for anybody that wonders where I’m coming from, I’ll also mention that sometimes I buy stuff at the dollar store! LOL.

Hey! I did learn about the place here at OTT. ROFL…

I ordered a dozen UBS charger cables that were the 3 in one type cables as everyone in my family looses cables. They had a UBS mini, micro, and an apple style. For the 15 bucks I spent very happy with the quality and as a bonus the cables do not handle data therefore my stupid GM's vehicles don't automatically launch auto android and lock the phone out when I just want to charge my phone.

I ordered a car restraint strap for my Jack Russell when in the car, a 15’ retracting leash and a small dog chest harness for $13 total, with free shipping. All were good quality, similar or identical to Amazon products and 1/4 the price. 8-10 day shipping from China. I think this undercuts lots of eBay sellers and Amazon by direct selling. If we are going to buy cheap stuff it aught to at least be a cheap price.

I've ordered a few small items from them to see what the quality was like. One item was an aluminum 12" engineers/drafting scale ruler. The triangular style with multiple scales on it.

When the plastic mailer package arrived, the other items were there but apparently the ruler had poked a hole in the package and disappeared. A call to temu with the order number and the customer service gal refunded the price for the ruler immediately. I offered to send pics of the beat up package. "Not necessary, thanks for shopping Temu!"

The few small items that did arrive were also of acceptable quality....as in Walmart or HF. But the items I ordered were things that I knew neither Walmart or HF would have in stock anyway.

Their customer service was impressive!

Do you have an air compressor handy for her when she does arrive? 🤪
I won't reply to that or even make a simple comment. I don't want to get banned by the Wolfman. I don't want to blow up the forums!!

I've considered purchasing from Temu, as I've seen some fun items on there, but I've never quite trusted it.

I'm glad to hear they're as legitimate a seller as can be, for commies. 🤣

Aside from the fact it is a CCP apparatchik (can you imagine Americans buying mass amounts of crap from Nazi Germany in WWII?), their reliability ratings suck. Glad no one here has gotten burned....yet.
I just can bring myself to willingly fund the most formidable enemy of the free world. Especially given the conditions the Chinese people work in.

Wow! You seem to be a bit opinionated! LOL

We all buy the same stuff everywhere these days...like it or not...just pay more for the same stuff. I bought an infrared thermometer for something like $8 delivered. Of course made in China, and with a wider range of temperatures than the one I bought for human temperature measurements at Target.

But the one at Target was $40, also made in China. And TEMU has one that looks identical physically to what I bought at Target, and it is less than $10. Just sayin' as they say...

While I am opinionated, my post was factual.
A good deal of stuff from the CCP looks like the real deal.....bit it isn't. Not saying I look down on anyone that buys the Chinesium. Just saying I can't do it with a clear conscience.

Just how are you ABLE to avoid buying Chinesium?
It is every day, everywhere, every thing!

I agree but,
Not so long ago my favorite country was using a lot of slave labor and using child labor until the late 19th century. We tend to forget we had some ugly in our past. Hopefully China will change

Admittedly, I cannot be Proposition 38 free. I will say it is easier than you think. It's not cheap or easy sometimes. It is often cheaper in the long run though. My $7 spatula has outlived scores of 99 cent Chinese ones and it's lead free.

True..... wait, is that Spain, Brasil, Cuba, Netherlands, USA, Portugal, France?
As a decendent of slaves, that's one of the reasons. The woke culture likes to call it 'Indentured servitude' these days. When there is no hope of ever paying off your passage and have to work it off to the end of your days.....that's slavery.
If the CCP changes a lot of things I may reconsider. Same goes for the Nam, and a host of other countries that treat their workforce like cattle.

In some countries where you have to be productive to survive. The people in the Chinese factories are being paid, however, it isn't what you would expect them to be paid if they were working in our society.

This is certainly true. BUT you also have to look at what prices are for things they buy. I remember being a poor traveler living on a dollar a day fifty plus years ago, and eating quite well, buying gas for my motorcycle, and paying for a cheap hotel, all on less than I could have bought lunch here in the USA for.

Still...some of the working conditions for the common man in these countries are not acceptable to us...but still acceptable to them. Just like a hundred years ago conditions here were acceptable to us then, but the same conditions would be intolerable here now...
