Since the idler gear doesn't have an even multiple of the crank gear teeth, you may have to rotate the crank 100 or 200 turns to line all the marks up together. Probably easier to remove the idler and start from scratch.
Thanks! We got it! Crank is worn.

I'm trying to get the crank out of the d722 but I cannot seem to get the timing marks lined up. How are the marks supposed to line up? We just want to get the marks lined up before we pull the crank
WHY?

Just so we know what we need to get lined up when we put it together. Took pics of it. The crank lobe that got ground is worn out of round. Worn 19 thousandths. Hopefully it can get ground within spec
There are punch marks on all the gears that need timed, super easy to line up.
You CAN NOT just set just the crank mark it will be wrong! You must set them all at one time.

Yea. Do the lines get lined up perfectly or are they a tooth off on every gear? Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to kubotas.
