I was in need of a new hydraulic hose so started looking on line. To see if I could get the custom size and fitting required with out have to drive 3 1/2 hours to town. Found Universal hose and fitting. Called them and they did the one hose for $26.12 so order two and shipping was $82.50. Had them in three days.( one dy was presidents day no mail)
This was cheaper than one hose if I had went to town not to mention the cost of gas.

I have always found them around us...And taken my old hose to have one made! I'm sure gas wouldn't be $82 for me, and same Day service?

For me, the toughest part was identifying what fitting type and size I needed. Some of my hoses had different size fittings on each end of the same hose. Discount Hydraulic Hose has several Reference Guides that show how to order hoses.
For some applications it might make sense to use pre-made hoses, available from Tractor Supply for example, and adapter fittings on each end as required. The hoses are relatively inexpensive and the fittings can be reused.

When needing hdraulic hoses I perfer to have a qualified shop make them up to ensure proper fit. Check the condition of the other hoses and make the trip worthwhile. The last thing I want is to have hose shipped in and have it be wrong i.e., fittings, length.

Universal also has a reference guide and a measurement guide.
For me it was a lot more cost effective to order them and have shipped since 2 hoses were $52 and $30 to ship if had driven to town 6 hour round trip and $45 for one hose this worked out better in the long run. But I agree if I was not sure which fittings I needed but it was stamped on the side so was fairly confident what I needed.

Kenny is referring to post #1, "Called them and they did the one hose for $26.12 so order two and shipping was $82.50."

I just paid $144 for 2 hoses made up from Discount Hydraulic Hose. 5/8 x 53" 4200psi with ORFS straight swivels on all ends, shipping was $16. Not a bad deal considering the local hydraulic shop wanted 120 for 1 hose. plus my time round trip driving.
Saved a bunch.

If you can spare the time, check the oem price to rule them out. You may be surprised, plus they will match . Most of the loader hoses are between $25-40 up to $80 for long 3rd function hoses.

Above you posted "shipping was $82.50", that is a lot different than what you just posted.
$52 +$30=$82 just round the exact total was $82.50
I didn't spell it out correctly in the first post
