Mine pumps real slow from ground level, higher is better but don't go so high that it will siphon instead of stopping the flow. I found that the floor board is best and I can lift with both hands making it rather easy.

After doing some research last year I bought a John Dow 106 gallon tank with auto shut off nozzle from Home Depot. The price of these has jumped significantly over the last 12 months. I paid a little over $1,000 delivered to the local store last year. I made a steel dolly/cart for it so that I can roll it to the front of the garage since neither of my tractors will fit in the garage and the hose is only 13ft long.
Last summer I took delivery of an LMTV M1078 that has a 60 gallon fuel tank. I think of that as being a rolling fuel storage system as well.

This is what I have. One of the things I like is that the hand crank pump will work backwards to drain the fueling line back into the tank when the tractor tank is full.
I'm also a member of the old farts club and had the same issues of lifting 5 gallon jugs onto the hood to refill. I think I have about $150 invested in this (new 55 gallon drum, drum dolly, electric pump kit and oil fill accessories). It has worked out great for me. I just have the oil delivery company fill it when they are filling my fuel oil tanks.

Fueling my B7100 is kind of a pain; the fuel tank is under the hood, but you must lift over the FEL supports, & it has a fuel strainer that slows fueling, plus I ain't getting any younger these days.
After struggling with 5 gallon cans, I found this 2 1/2 gallon. Much easier to lift & control.
Then I added the fuel hose benders and it got even easier.

Interesting. Maybe sometime I’ll video it but it would be a really boring video. Works like this:
1) Step on step with right leg. Put jug on right knee. Use left hand on loader to assist and steady for the actual step to the platform. Right hand carries the jug.
2) Step up, continue motion forward taking next step onto platform with left foot.
3) Stepping up with jug on right knee propels it forward as you step up. Use that momentum to assist in swinging it up to gently set the edge of the jug on the steering wheel.
4) With the jug sitting calmly on the steering wheel, both feet on the platform; everything stable and stopped: take the cap off the nozzle and set it aside.
5) Opening the cap on the vent now or after starting flow is optional. I remove vent cap now.
6) Place left index finger over the end of the nozzle. The nozzle and my left index finger are sized such that this forms a quite effective short duration low pressure valve.
7) Using right hand, tip the heel of the can off the steering wheel, gently sliding it onto the cowl. With the heel of the can in the corner formed by the steering wheel and cowl, slowly tilt the can down while guiding the nozzle into the fuel tank. This particular can just happens to fit the L4701 perfectly.
8) Immediately prior to left index finger interfering with nozzle entering the fuel tank filler neck, remove index finger and allow flow to start.
9) If you didn’t open the air vent previously, do it now.
10) Wipe the little bit of diesel you now have on you left index finger on your pants where there’s already a stain from the last 50 times you did the same thing.
With some minor variation specific to different machines and cans, that basic method of find something to rest it on and use a finger over the nozzle as a valve is pretty much how I’ve put fuel in a bunch of different stuff with a bunch of different cans for a few decades. I really thought that’s just how it’s done unless you had a pump or siphon.
Trying to think of some at least pseudo reasonable way that would make a mess and not coming up with anything. I suppose I could charge up on the platform sloshing diesel willy-nilly like some sort of drunken wild man but that doesn’t seem reasonable.

$62 on Amazon. They have a 2 gal one for about $50. I don't like having valves, connections, etc. below the fuel level. Leaks invariably develop.

I made a custom pallet for a 50 gal tank. CC $ limit, you may need to run it twice to get 40 gal. then drive to different pump to fill tank or use 2nd CC
