9:30 am and its 57F! Strange weather but spring is really coming.

Just below 50F here. The thaw is in full mess up the yard mode.
Combination of mud, ice, and free standing water makes walking interesting.

I'm used to a mud season in the fall and one in the spring, but repeated mud spells in Jan and Feb are weird. Next week's forecast includes unpredictable amounts of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow.

I am pretty well trained about taking the boots off before coming in the house but this freeze - thaw cycle has driven the wife nuts as she tries to keep the paw prints off her wood floors.

There are trees budding in the Mid Atlantic. Frogs are already out too. Soil temps are already 50° in unshaved areas. Earliest I can ever remember this.

Looking at our 14-day forecast, all but one day is forecasted in mid-50s and 60s. One day is showing high 40s.

It is interesting I checked NWS and it shows in our area zero frost depth in the ground. I know a few weeks back when we were working the waterway in field, we may of had an inch of frost in the ground (I think that is being generous), but by noon it was gone and we were dealing with mud.

Sure are lots of signs that Spring is quickly approaching.
