This is more out of curiosity than anything else, but if I had the money I would definitely consider doing it. Does anyone keep a set of wheels and tires like r1's and r4's or turf's? So it would be like just switching it out winter tires to summer/all seasons on your car., but instead of season just the type of work your doing I saw a couple posts on here on r14's and Im not sure if that is a good medium. When I am in the woods I certainly wont get stuck easily with my r1's, but im always nervous about springing a leak in the tire.

You could, but unlike car tires, tractor tires are heavy and unruly, especially if they are loaded with ballast.
And tractors are a little more difficult to jack the rear up safely!

I’m new here but have the same question. I have a bx23s that has r14 tires on it. They work well in the woods but are still too aggressive for my lawn. I want to get a set of turf tires strictly for cutting grass. My question is can I use tires and wheels off a bx1860 on my 23s? I found a good deal on them. I know the tires are smaller but will the rims fit?

If you look reaaalll carefully at the front and rear tire sizes on the 1860 ....and then look at the 23s ......
they are different - BUT, and here is the crazy but...... the ratio of them is very, very close.
Notice I am comparing bx1850 to a bx2370 (which should be the same as your two)
The diameter is the math OF the actual measured circumference.
One thing to look at also - the front rim on the 23s is for a 8.5 wide tire and the rim on the xx60 is for a 7.5 wide tire.
I placed 2370 tires ON the 1850 without problems - BUT the rim from the BX2370 rubbed and bound up on the steering knuckle - so I had to get the 18" tires and place on the 7.5" rims from the xx60 ( if this makes any sense)
I am always on grass too - in 4wd - never on a hard surface.

Good to know thanks, I dont forsee myself doing that currently, especially if I ever got the tires loaded - I never even thought of that. As for jacking up the rear, I was unaware thank you for letting me know, Just hit 25 hours so I havent done my first 50 hour service yet.

Jacking up the rear is not a real problem - assuming you are using a floor jack and stand. I typically raise it about 1/4" of the floor

Try doing it with an L with really fat heavy tires, it's a bit of a task!

I did it on a ford 8n with CaCl in it - it was a royal bbbbbeeeaauch to get it back lined up on the studs!!!!!! Bx is still a wee bit heavy- but like you said, it aint like no REAL tire - loaded!
I have a spare set of turf tires for my BX2200. The only time I put them on was when I was getting the R1 tires I have foam filled.
Also, as mentioned in a post above, the front wheels will not fit a BX23s. I know because I lent the turf tires to my son in law when he was getting his BX23S tires foam filled. The rears worked just fine, but the fronts would not fit...
Would I buy a spare set of different tires for either of my tractors knowing what I know now? NOPE. But maybe I am just the lazy sort...This year I did not put the snow tires on my van, which I rarely use...LOL...decided spring is not that far away...I think I decided that last September...LOL

Great information. Thank you. If I understand correctly you tried to put the tires from the 2370 onto the 1860, but could you put the tires and rims from an 1860 onto your 2370, or in my case 23s? Kinda the opposite of what you did? Hopefully that makes sense. Sorry, again I’m new to the bx world.

I can't speak for the OP, but I do know that my BX2200 front tires would not fit on my son in law's BX23S, because the rim was too small to fit on, although the tire size was the same.
I assume that the BX23S wheels would fit on my BX2200, since the wheel itself is apparently slightly larger in diameter where it slips over the hub. This is an assumption though. Pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same, but not sure about that either. Rear wheels worked fine.
Yep, I have 2 sets of rims and tires for my L3901, one set Ag and one set Turf, both rear sets are loaded!
I use it most of the year at my large northern MI property with Ag tires, then swap it to turf tires as I bring it back down State to use with a snow pusher and rear snow blower at an industrial type property.
The Ag and turf tires are totally different heights on the rear, 2 sets of hands help out with the loaded rear tires and wheels.
Turfs do well for show use without chains, Ags do well in field and woodland work.

I assume you have a standard set of four tires for swapping on your Tractor, and that the fronts are also different heights when you swap from ag tures to turf? At first I thought maybe you were swapping only the rear tires…but now doubt that is the case.
Yes I swap a full set of 4, fronts are easy, it’s those rears, the turfs are wider and seem even heavier than the ags, I cannot stand a turf up without help and a long bar, I put the tire onto a 2 x 4 so it’s easier to rotate a little for hole alignment.
How do you "stud" your front turfs for the winter snowblower work? Might you have a picture of those studded tires? How about the studs? thanks, Dusty

I have all 4 as turf tires and keep chains on the rears 100% of the time. Granted I don't do any heavy work, don't drive very far and rarely on pavement. Most of my work is snowblowing. (20+ hrs/winter-kinda varies) 10-15hrs of whatever in the non-winter months.
A little mowing, a little pallet fork and bucket or hauling an errant tree.
I always kinda felt I have the best of both worlds with Turfs and very modest (non aggressive) chains
