I have been waiting a full year (yes tru) for a factory L4701HST with a BH92 backhoe and third function. Zero financing and factory warranty is certainly a plus but I am sick of waiting and found a L47 two years old with low hours for slightly cheaper. I can pay all cash for the used machine. What is the better way to go.....? Are wait times like this beyond the norm? How does the 4701HST compare with the L47 Help?

If you're in need of a, do it all commercial quality TLB go with the L47, you will not have cruise control though, if you are doing mostly 3 pt hitch farming then wait.

I have a 2006 L48 TLB, that I bought 3-1/2 years ago from a private party - with 251 hours.
The L47 TLB is a newer version of my L48 TLB
I do have the L48 3pt. kit, but I also have Ford tractor for 3pt. use.
The only reason I would ever part with my L48 TLB would be for an M62.
IMHO the L47 is a fine machine.

Depending on what you want, check/search on ‘Machinery Pete’will show multiple used and new…may not be at your dealer but they are available at some…may need to shop or drive a if heart set on l4701. Good luck. Send pics.

Buy the used one, then trade it in on the new one, if it ever shows up.

I think the OP definitely wants a backhoe, if he were to buy an l47 tractor.
I did NOT notice any l47's with hoes, on that Machinery Pete site.
Finding a hoe attachment separately could be VERY difficult!

Well I can say I originally bought my MX (early 2021…world was crazy, but not quite batshit level crazy)with backhoe, but because of the delay for the hoe the dealer split the order as the tractor was available really quick (couple days/weeks) but to hoe was not. The BH was about a 6 mo wait.

that same site has listings for L47 and m62. I think stuff is out there but might need to drive or ship to get what you are looking for. The dealers around us do have product on the lots…BH92 maybea little bit rare though.

L47 is a significantly more capable machine I believe, than an L4701 with backhoe. So could be good buying at that price, if you need that capability.

If you've waited 12 months for the L4701, surely that means it's going to arrive soon? I mean, you must be close to the head of the list.

Is there a reason for the L4701 v's L3902? In most usage I gather they perform pretty similarly, it may be a lot easier to get the L3902. The wait on the L4701 may be a combination of it being a rarer model, plus also about to be replaced by an L4802 - so maybe they stopped making the old one.

I originally was going to buy a L4701, but found they are not a model that most dealers keep in stock or order a lot of. In that size tractor, the most popularly stocked model is a MX, which has considerably more capabilities but isn’t much larger in size. Maybe check on availability of a MX 5400 or 6000? It uses the same backhoe as the L4701.

The 4701 accommodates the BH 92. The 39’s only come with the 77. That is why the 4701

Weird that you have been waiting so long on a L4701, since my local dealer has 3 sitting on his lot. I am waiting on a L4802.
The backhoe is the holdup. I need to drive it a distance from the dealer so I prefer to pick it all up at once. It has been a nightmare

take your cash and purchase a good low hour used tractor and don’t look back! Like every market with these high interest rates there will be better deals on the used ones! If you watch them on tractor house they are driving a lot longer now. People are not paying 7.5-9% on tractors or equipment now! It’s crazy! Wait another month and I bet you could even get a better deal! That’s my .02 and my answer to the question you asked;)

It might take somewhat more than "another month", but IMHO you are singing the proper tune!

If the BH92 was important to you, then I believe the L47 has a stronger backhoe still than the BH92. So unless you particularly wanted a new machine, the used L47 is probably better buying.

The L47 Definitely has a MUCH stronger BH, and a dig depth of 10' as well.

A L47TBL is in a completely different class than a L4701 they really are not comparable at all.

Kind of like trying to compare an old VW BUG engine and Porsche engine, while they are basically the same blocks the rest varied greatly!

Kind of like trying to comparing a Opal GT and a Corvette!

Kind of like comparing the Falcon Heavy Rocket and an Atlas rocket!

You get the point!
