No 4WD light on MX tractors .... kind of annoying.

Some of us still use analogue clocks and don't have a problem reading dial gauges. LEVER OUT = FWD ON works for me

I am more upset that K puts cheap back breaker seats with no suspension designed for users 5 feet tall weighing 90 lbs
Hey, I much prefer analogue watches over quartz /battery powered even though they're less precise. :D If you have any doubt about my interest in antiquated things look at my user name. ;) And for the record, I much prefer dial gauges in vehicles.

MX series is an economy priced tractor as every buyer should be aware of. It does not have the bells and whistles of higher price tractors. When purchasing a tractor, one should investigate what each tractor has or has not. Spending alot or money and in alot of cases is the only and last tractor they purchase, being a forever tractor. My opinion.

Is $50k your idea of an "economy" tractor? What higher priced tractors are you referring to? The Grand L6060 is definitely not an economy tractor but according to @SDT it doesn't have a 4WD indicator light either. If you want HST and around 60hp your choices are an MX or L6060, neither of which have a 4WD indicator which only show up on M series and above it seems.

Like I said, it's not a deal breaker, but something I'd like to have.

Its funny how we all like different things on these tractors. I am north of thousand hours on my MX6000 now and probably have only had in FWA a half dozen times. I don't need a light for the FWA. I need a better screen set up for the radiator and oil coolers. We were so dry this summer I had to carry a air tank on the sprayer to blow them out during the day. I need to figure out a seat up grade also. Its been a good tractor hasn't needed to go back to the dealer.

1,000 hours? How long have you had that thing? But I suppose 8 hours a day cutting grass would do it in six months. You might qualify for the La-Z-Boy upgrade program with the way you're going. :ROFLMAO:

It was a year old last June. I put a lot of hours on it spraying. I used it a little a month ago to move some equipment around in the shed. It stays parked for the winter. It doesn't even have a block heater and won't have one probably until I sell it. I put one on the Agco it replaced when I sold it to a guy that was going to use it in the winter.

I have 2 newish Kubotas, and the only thing I would wish for is that the levers were consistant from one model to the next, eg 4wd is up, 2wd is down. But no they are opposite and in my old age I have to stop and look at the labels because I can't remember which is which on the tractor I happen to be on, and from the seat it is hard to see. Just call me McGoo.

If you paid that much, you got ripped off big time. I purchased a new mx5100dt, 4wd, with loader, ag tires, Woods heavy duty rotary mower and rears loaded with rimguard for less than $30,00.

A new MX5100 was purchased several years ago. That model hasn’t been made in awhile. What still costs the same as it did 5-10 years ago? Also, the poster you are quoting has a unit with a cab, something that wasn’t available on the 5100.

Correct, mx5100 was from the 2012-2014 era. Are you suggesting a like tactor went up $20,000? Price increases yes. Maybe.

Yes, they have gone up. This is a bare bones MX6000 cab with loader.

What a clueless moron! Wake up!! Look at prices for an MX6000 with cab and then get back to me when you actually have something intelligent and meaningful to contribute.

In December 2021, I paid about $42K for a ROPS MX6000 with loader.
May ‘21 I got mine used with 120 hours for 33,500. Guy even delivered it 45 minutes away. He gave me the sales receipt where he paid 38,000 or so just a few months earlier.

I just reviewed the invoice. I actually only paid $38K for the tractor and loader. The additional was for implements.

When I sold the open station MX6000 and rear blade very early last year (February I think) I got $39k for it. The blade was $1750 new, so basically $37,250 for an MX open station with 110 hours, three rear remotes and the third function. I sold a set of tire chains to the same person a few months later for $400. I was more than happy with the deal, as was the new owner given that tractors were unobtanium.

The MX6000 HSTC that replaced it was considerably more expensive. The base price of the standard tractor and loader with heavy duty round back bucket was $46,811. Basically the configuration shown by @Matt Ellerbee above but with R4 tires and zero options. Note that the base tractor is now about $7k more expensive than when I ordered mine in July of 2021. I added the options listed below and have zero regrets about any part of the purchase, even though I was "ripped off big time".

I will add, it's the price increases that we saw in 2020, 2021 and 2022 that prompted me to buy the M6060. I knew I'd want a bigger tractor at some point, and I knew that prices weren't ever going down again so when the M6060 showed up on the lot in Sheridan, WY and priced at almost $8k below the current MSRP I jumped at the chance. I've said this before, had I ordered an M it would have most likely been the M7060 with F12/R12 transmission, but I have no regrets at all and saved some money in the process.

Third function
Three rear remotes with one float
Top-n-tilt
Air ride seat
Rear window defogger and wiper
130A alternator
Rear work lights
Side mirrors
7-pin trailer outlet
Bolt on cutting edge
Draft control
Wheel weights 600lb
Rim Guard in rear tires

Not to mention that the HST is considerably more expensive than the DT.

@Matt Ellerbee selected R1 tires and no bucket above. Add the R4 tires which I have, and a bucket which is the norm if you're buying a loader, and the base price with no options is significant at over $55k and hardly an "economy" priced tractor.

CAB tractor, HST, with all accessories, changes everything.
