Today, I did a series of flushes on my radiator (citric acid flush, neutralize, rinse, etc.) Tractor started perfectly over 10 times. I added new coolant and nothing when I tried to engage starter, no click no nothing! Plenty of volts in new battery (12.58V) - At first, I thought perhaps something got wet with so many radiator drains but I think it might be the wired in on/off switch (no keyed switch) done by previous owner. I found one blown fuse (light circuit?) and see another inline fuse that has a bunch of electrical tape around it so need to examine it tomorrow to see if it is also blown - does this other fuse cover starting circuit/power to starter by any chance? Tomorrow, my plan is to remove old fuse holders that hold glass style fuse (3 amp and 5 amp apparently) and solder in new in line blade style micro fuse holders. I was going to go with a Kubota keyed switch but is it correct that I just need a simple 3 pole keyed switch that I can source from any Napa Auto Parts or other? The on/off toggle switch that was put in has two connections with a pigtail added between its 2 connections. I discovered the oil pressure light harness dangling (no bulb- what size do they take anyway?) there was a red wire with a ring connector hanging off of this oil pressure light harness - I assume this connects to one of the three poles on the keyed switch? One happy discovery when I pulled dash was that there was the light switch switch just dangling, still attached to main harness! It lacks the oem knob and little jam nut to secure it to dash but at least I still have it. I tried horn button a number of times today thinking it might make contact but no dice so will pull it, clean all contacts and see what I get. Can anyone guide me with keyed switch in terms of how to wire it and/or has anyone replace their switch with a replacement unit from Napa or other? I am hoping that the on/off toggle switch failed but am I missing anything elsewhere? Thanks all! She ran so well today, I was just getting ready to drive here down the street to the local carwash to blow some old dirt off the wheels, gearbox, etc. and giver her a well deserved bath! Oh, does anyone happen to have a oem light switch knob/screw for a 70's B6000?

Your tractor will have a fusible link. A piece of wire with special insulation acting as the main fuse.
It will be plugged ito a connector beside the starter.

As a general rule, a fusible link is made of wire that is four gauges higher (smaller) than the rest of the circuit, making it the weakest link ...

When it fails, it will break the continuity in the rest of the circuit, preventing damage to other components down the line. A fusible link typically costs a couple of bucks and can be replaced in 30 minutes.

DO NOT REPLACE WITH A PIECE OF ORDINARY WIRE. The FL wire insulation will remain in place preventing the now bare ends of the blown link from shorting to metal.

Dave,
I don't think that model has that Fuse link, too old.
And with the wiring being all hacked up anything is possible.

Warm,
Get a good meter or a really good test light.

Will check for that link - my old dodge has fusible links and know the signs of a failed one, thanks

And this seems likely too of course, another member had the same issue and found it was simply the positive lead at the starter- will check that out along with a little dash clean up - got to find a keyed switch today and wire it in
