Hi everyone
Had to remove flywheel to replace bolts on rear plate. Can I just slap flywheel back on in any orientation? There’s a mark to align with starter pointer.

Those flywheels have a certain bolt pattern. Turn it until all the holes match and bolt it up. If you can get all the bolts in, it's right.

If you can get all the bolts in by hand , not with a wrench.

As other have said, no marks you just need to line up the bolt pattern.
Thread all bolts past the collar on the bolt by HAND, if they won't go in then you have the alinement wrong.

there is sometimes a witness mark on the back side of the flywheel where it mates up to the crank. Look at the crank and flywheel. Some of them had maybe a little half-drilled hole in the crank, and that hole would leave a witness mark on the flywheel. Line em up and hand tighten all bolts.

ONE of the 6 bolt holes is not the same distance apart as the others and it's kind of a pain to line em all up.
