Hello, looking for some advise
I had a massive cranial cramp and stupidly (maybe it was my eyes??) installed my battery with polarity reversed.
No my tractor won't start at all. No sign of life. Fuses are intact. It's -21 and a huge dump of snow coming.
Any ideas for fixing?

Yes, remove the battery, and with a flashlight check for a fuse in a separate fuse holder. Most likely that is the fuse that you have blown. I didn't quite do what you did, but I did cause a short circuit when I dropped a wire while adding a light, and the fuse that I had blown was located on the right side of the battery, but in the back of the battery, so it is difficult to see. I have a newer tractor than yours, but for the most part, most of the BX series tractors are similar in construction. The tractor that I blew the fuse on was a 2004 BX22.

Thanks Dusty -- I couldn't find a fuse where you suggested but checked in the manual and found the "slow blow" fuse in a different location (in front of the oil filter) - trying to get it out now hopefully it'll be that easy!
Much appreciated

This levity probably won't help much, but maybe you should change your screen name to:
"nonelectrical Mike"

Sorry--I was gonna post this 30minutes ago, I stopped myself, but later could-not-resist. (I tried....and I am sorry!)

I truly hope you find the fusible link you're getting help finding. I don't know your machine or would be right in there helping (for real)

I had to refrain from calling myself "stupid Mike" so anything is an improvement...... :)
It's -22 here and I had to give up. Have to remove the cowling to get at that "slow-blow" 50A fuse: manual says that fuse is to protect against wrong battery connection so I guess they anticipated someone doing something this dumb but assumed there weren't enough of us to make it easily accessible.... or at least make sure we don't do it twice...... temp goes to -13 tomorrow so balmy mechanics temperatures

Good luck Mike. I really was just trying to be funny, unlike some of the grumpy old men that seem to pop into threads here and there with their bitterness and extreme sarcasm. Funnybones seem to be in short supply some days.

I once bought a car for $200 which had the exact same thing done to it, but in that case, it was a "fusible link" that burnt up. It was essentially a chunk of wire under a sorta/kinda piece of heatshrink that vaporized with the cross polarity. Very little else in the car was damaged as I recall.
It was located right off the positive terminal of the battery and appeared just like "another wire bundle". (that was 35yrs ago, so don't remember the exact details now)

As I said before, I don't know your tractor whatsoever, but if you have access to a wiring diagram and service manual you may also find that too (or maybe your big 50-Amp fuse is performing the same function?)

Wishing you well sir !

I am not certain if ve9aa was referring to sweet ole me, but just to prove that I am trying to be helpful, I am posting a picture of what you are looking for.

Good luck Mike. I really was just trying to be funny,

Now, see, that's where I have the advantage over you. If you want to be funny, you try to make some kind of joke which may or may not go over well. Sometimes you mean well and it just doesn't fly, or it hits somebody wrong.

Me? If I want to be funny, I just post a selfie. Easy peasy! :D

Guess that the 50 amp fuse that I posted isn't the same as what Kubota used. Good thing because the one that Kubota uses is a lot easier to find.

curious, so I looked up my BX23S 'wiring' section on the Kubota site
That 50 amp fuse is $17.22, the fuse PULLER is over $20 !!!!

Yeah!

The 'Toyota Service Tool' that is used to depress two little detents in an A/C line coupler is about $28.00 shipped. You can accomplish the same thing with a paper clip.

His will look similar to this:

That picture is labeled incorrectly. That is a fuse, not a fusible link. They are two very different things. While they serve the same purpose, and operate in a similar manner, still, they are not the same thing and the terms are not interchangeable.

Here's are some decent run-downs on fusible links:

Its a slo-blow fuse actually. Same function....just not a wire.
