A few years back I was having a great deal of difficulty purging the air out of the fuel line to get restarted after a service. After killing the battery, I went on YouTube to troubleshoot and found out about cracking an injector to let the air out the top of the system. Upon doing so , tractor ran like hell, lots of black smoke and down on power. I brought it to my local dealer who said I had messed with the pumps timing by doing so and that it was $$$ to fix. He said in lieu of that, he could put it on the dyno and spin the injector to get it close to timing by ear.
I've been running like that since, but his dyno figures said it was still down a few horses and it still makes a bit of black smoke.
Is this really a $3K fix to make right?
