I am wondering what are some shade options for a BX tractor in the dog heat of summer. What are owners using?? The hard orange canopy for around $500.00 looks nice but is it a pain to be under the rest of the year?? Love to hear peoples input/opinion????

I take my hard canopy off in the fall. I have 2 ratchet straps hanging from the ceiling, drive under them, wrap them around the canopy, romove the bolts, raise the canopy, drive out. Takes longer to find the wrenches than to remove it.

I have a TuffTop on my B7500. Mine has served me very well. It makes quite a difference in comfort on sunny days and provides some protection from rain and snow. The TuffTop was one of the more reasonably priced canopies when I bought in several years ago.

Do you have any pics of your TuffTop on your tractor?? Are you using the XLR-52 48"x52"??

Actually if you do a search of threads there a few guys on here who posted about canopies before and a real nice one made of diamond plate aluminium was posted and if I recall pretty reasonably priced.

She would have to keep awful close to you to keep the sun off. :D
No way. It's kind of like the "he-man woman-haters club"- hat or no hat, she ain't driving my Kubota.

It's been several yrs back but I built my canopy for my L 3000. Paint and everything it cost a little under $200.

Mystro - Lots of pictures in the link below. See posts #20, 21, 22, 23, 31, 32, 33, and 34. Also good comments on Tufftop and other canopies.

My Tufftop is the XLR-52 (aka XL-48). It is 48" wide x 52" long. I bought it in June 2006 from Jon Depratt in Columbus, Ks for $361.96 including ground shipping from zip 66725 to 48732. At that time, Jon was giving discounts to TBN members.

Here is a link to another thread regarding a cracking problem that I had with the Tufftop attaching bracket. Includes more photographs.

I hope this information is helpful - best wishes on your selection!

Her being the one wearing the umbrella was the exact reason why I'd want that good lookin woman close to me on the tractor!
