Is there an attachment (BX2370 with LA243 loader) that can grab

I'm looking for an attachment that mounts to my Loader that I can use to pull small trees/weeds out by "grabbing the trunk". Sort of a sideways mounted grapple (pinchers?) that uses the same hyd controls that operates the grapple.
I'd like to be able to reach out a few feet into stream/pond and grab the small stuff. Does such an attachment exist?

I have not seen that type of attachment in ‘BX size’. I think you’d get something close if you look for ‘tree shear’ attachments. Tractor Time with Tim reviewed something like that on a jd 1025r a while back, i dont remember the name but if you scroll through his youtube channel youd see it.

I would like to build something like a log splitter to go on FEL that could rotate close to 360 for this and other purposes..

pretty sure that's called a 'backhoe'....... ;)

never seen anything 'loader mounted' to do what you want...'few feet' ? 2,5,10 ??
4 decades ago I welded up a 'treble hook' and fished for trees and logs using my CJ-5 to haul them out.

the loggers have them... hold tree, cut it, toss into a pile..... easy design to 'downsize'.
maybe use a 10" battery chainsaw, vertical 3 or 5 fingered claw. you could modify chainsaw for hydraulic motor. just watch a 'tree harvester' in action

My 11' reach Kubota L48 TLB with thumb, would easily perform that task.

There is this type, but it is sized for bigger machines than your BX.

hmm, bit of a brute, weighs 300+# and not a 'long' reach.....
still, for the price not _bad_ ??
hmm wonder what 'small' tree means ? less than 3", less than 8" ?

BTW....Anything less than 8" ,get chewed into mulch by local aborists these days.

hmm, googled mini tree shear'...

LOTS of options......

Not sure if it would work for you, and also do not have a suggestion where to buy something, but I have read there are attachments to use with the 3PH that allows grabbing on to things and pulling them up out of the ground...using the 3PH lift capacity. Perhaps something like this would be more workable with a BX?

Just a thought...

I saw 'pallet grabbers' for around $50 CDN very, very similar to that 1st 'brush grabber'........
The problem I see is getting it to grab BEFORE you move. I'm thinking a simple tension spring might be a good 'addon'.

There is one, barely visible in the picture. I have one, it doesn't work well for my needs. Actually the second item from Brush Grubber I'm disappointed with. The first was a grapper to mount on your FEL bucket. I mounted it on my backhoe and proceeded to bend it up.

I think OP described the tree puller, but I don't know about reaching out in the water with it.

Ah, that's the one i was talking about!

Still borderline for a BX, which is the main problem here. The one thing i would say is that it doesn't cut things and grab them in the same motion so if you can lift the attachment at all you can cut limbs with it. Now picking those limbs up to carry would be a maybe (probably not, on a bx). But if all you were doing was dragging things out of the pond you could certainly do that! Dragging is a lot easier for a tractor than lifting. :)

My 'log splitter' idea is similar to this thing but instead of a shear on the end of a rotating pipe, it would be a log splitter mounted along a rotating pipe. More of the weight would be inboard and on a bigger pipe so the diagonal bracing would be only near the base instead of reaching 3+ft out. I would hope the weight would not be 600 lbs like this thing  but more like 300-350.

OK, had to zooooom the grabber picture to see the black spring on the black arms....sigh, old eyes....
should be able to 'somehow' add a 'trunk gripper' to the miniclip cutting bar, wedging the trunk between it and the red plate.
the big boys toys have a separate hydraulic gripper.....

That miniclip can rotate the cutter. I'd eliminate that in favour of a 'trunk gripper'. Should be able to reduce some weight, don't really need the A'section guard either.
