I have been using my tractor a LOT in the last month moving snow for myself and the neighbors. Today the loader started having a bunch of side to side play.
I determined that the right side bolts that hold the loader frame to the engine had loosened. Two were gone completely, and the remaining two were not attached to the block (removed by hand) and severely damaged. I purchased some replacement 14mm bolts, but cannot get any of them to start to thread.
I am guessing that probably the threads in the block are messed up, and will at a minimum need to be chased with a tap or re threaded for oversized bolt? Because of the design and location I cant see into the holes.
The work area is pretty tight, and I have a minimum of tools, two bad shoulders and have been unable to contact a couple mechanical minded friends for advice.
Would the safest approach be to take it to the dealer for repair< as it seems to get things aligned/threaded properly would require removal of the bucket attachment to allow perpendicular tapping the holes. I found two spacers for the top ? holes, unsure if something similar is needed on the bottom, but I can check the other side in the daylight tomorrow.
Thanks for any and all suggestions and advice.
