i recently traded my L3250 for an MX6000. The 3240 had a freewheel attachment added to the PTO allowing the mowers to spool down after the PTO was disengaged. Is that necessary on the MX6000? If so, what brand is recomended?
Thanks

Its not needed on any Kubota I have ever owned or operated.

I don't believe an over run clutch is necessary but I added one to my L2501 anyhow. I didn't like the idea of my mower attempting to spin my system backward. If there's an internal over run clutch hopefully this will extend its life and put off required repairs. I just bought one on Amazon figuring they're all about the same. Note that the Kubota does not have a drilled PTO shaft so the absolute cheapest ones won't work.

External overrunning clutch not needed. Reduce engine RPM's down to idle speed to use engine braking effect on the PTO driven implement, then disengage PTO.

At startup, engage PTO at idle speed or very slightly above to prevent stalling, then increase throttle to attain 540 PTO RPM's.

Makes everything last longer!

Had an over run clutch on our 9N because the PTO was tied in to the rear end such that when you disengaged the clutch, the momentum of the bush hog turning the PTO would keep driving the rear wheels and the brakes weren’t exactly great even when working perfectly, so you couldn’t stop until the bush hog wound down. Kind of unhandy if you were headed toward a tree or your truck or a little kid or a drop off of some sort. The over run clutch allowed the tractor to run the bush hog without allowing the bush hog to run the tractor.

Why you’d have any use for that on a MX6000, I have no clue. Won’t hurt anything but don’t know what it would help.
