I purchased a used hla sb1000 snow plow with hydraulic angle. My third function has two male 1/4" quick couplings. The snow plow has 1/2" male quick couplings on 3/8 hoses. I purchased 2 kubota 1/4" style female quick couplings and went to my local hardware store thinking I would easily find a reducer but there was nothing there that would work. I need to go from the 1/2" male thread to the 1/4" female thread. so my question is can I use plumbing pipe or is there special fittings to handle the pressure? will brass or galvanized reducer with a 1/4" threaded nipple be ok if I can find it. ? Is there a reducer available that would make this simpler? Just to make sure the male quick coupling is .800 " across the top which I think makes it a 1/2" coupling. I would assume that also means 1/2" thead. I know nothing about hydraulics. thank you
