Seeking to add a Land Plane / Grading Scraper to my B2601 tractor toolbox.

I've decided that something in the 60" size would be what I'm looking for and have initially focused on the Land Pride GS0560 & GS1560. Can anyone elaborate on the 'depth of cut' adjustment featured on the 1560 but not included on the 0560?

Quick Hitch compatibility is desirable, and I'd be satisfied with 'medium duty' if that was a consideration. My usage would be occasional, driveway maintenance & trail development use. Currently have a LP BB1254 54" box blade working well.

Some other brands I'm considering include Woods, Tar River & Ironcraft. I'd like to get recommendations on these & other brands from members with experience in these graders.

Thanks in advance! :)

I have an Everything Attachments land leveler/land plane and it's Wicked ... as its name implies. I'm sure that a Woods, Land Pride or IronCraft would be good too but I'd stay well away from Tar River stuff or anything Chinese made.

I watched a video on YouTube where a tractor owner bent one or both of the cutting edge supports on his Homestead Implements land plane.

From the pictures, on the LP site, they seem to have the same adjustments. They are also both QH compatible.

One thing to consider is the GS1560 is heavier with heavier blades. I think that is an advantage as long as it isn't too heavy for your tractor. I don't think the GS1560 is. GS0560 is 350 while the GS1560 is 525 from what I've found.

Fwiw, I haven't had to adjust my blade height on my GS2572, and I've used mine for a couple of years.

Thanks for the quick replies!

One of the recc's I've seen for the LP units is to acquire the optional 2nd blades, makes perfect sense & I see that as a no-brainer.

I've looked at both LP spec listings, both seem to be within weight recc's for my B2601. One thread in particular mentioned the adjustability issue which is why I've inquired about that feature.

That EA model sure is heavy! I know their stuff is top-notch, and HD throughout.(y)

Yeah, the 60" model is shown as 672lb. I have the 84" model that weighs 786lb, but weight is good for these.

One more thing, you might consider locktite on the plow bolts that hold on the blades. The vibration tends to cause them to come loose on mine anyway.

Any members here using a Woods GSS54P? It's one of the few (if the only) 54" graders I've found, and 54" would be a nice fit for my tractor.

I know that a grader doesn't move material like a box blade would, but I'm wondering about the 60" vs a 54" implement and whether 'sizing down' in a grader is a bad idea. I definitely don't want to overwhelm the tractor and initially figured that a 60" wouldn't do that. But once those scarifiers are positioned down the real work begins and I'm betting that my tractor would fare better with the 54" over the 60", even though the size is marginal.

Additionally, the adjustable cutter depth seems to be a real advantage. Even the Tar River model has that feature.

For gravel, I've found I rarely use the scarifiers except to clear potholes. In that case, you only need put down the scarifiers that you want to use. In other words, you can put down as few as one.

Think about how to you will do your passes. I do the edge one way and then do the edge on the way back overlapping until I get to the center. The blades push the material to the middle. As long as 54 makes sense with respect to the passes and covers your wheel width It should be ok. However, I also use my bucket as a guide although I also watch with my magnetic mirrors. My bucket is 66 and my GS is 72. I find that works pretty well.
