I‘ve flown a great many of them when I worked for gov’t flight operations… not many of them tell the same story privately onboard after the cabin door is closed that they told in public.
So you confirm they are real good at not telling the truth!

I confirm that those of one party (predominately) mis-leads the public as to their true agenda.

When the doctor/politician (and son of a Congressman) was appointed by the state governor to head up “public health” began to close neighborhood clinics which served poor people …. he tried to use the phrase “family values” to promote himself to me as I gave him a safety-briefing…. I responded to him “When YOU say “protect family values” I believe you are referring to the wealthy families in WestLake Hills… not the disadvantaged ones in East Austin.”

The local tree guys give a 10% to 20% discount for cash....

Long ago, a girl I knew, her dad owned a diner/restaurant in NJ. A lot of cash sales. I bet less than 1/2 was reported revenue. He got around product bought vs revenue reported by paying cash for some of the foodstuffs. Drivers and dock guys were skimming. Over loading trucks and selling for pocket cash. Warehouses simply accepted it as shrinkage.

I got my oil changed and tires rotated yesterday. When checkout time came the guy quickly told me that 3.5% would be added if I paid with a credit card. I paid cash. A few weeks ago I had some welding done and was told that cash or check, no tax. If I used a credit card they would add 7% sales tax. I paid with a check.

I know that big boxes and retailers have already added the CC mark up to their prices but I wonder if cash and checks will be the new normal for small retailers??

A sign on the front door of a small local restaurant says, cash only.

My CapitalOne Business card credits me 1.5%.
bank charges me 4% per transaction plus $0.34. And 3.75% at work. They deduct that much if customer pays in cash.

I just use it as a passthrough at exactly 4% should a customer pay with a card. Once people know that a lot of them will pay with cash. I don't take checks, period. yes the bank does offer a discount or a credit under certain circumstances. My situation is tiny in comparison. 1 employee 1 owner and under $50k/yr total income.

You should look into Square since they are a good choice for the smaller merchants. If you want to still charge the 4% you might just make a few extra cents on each transaction to cover the upfront costs of equipment.
