I'm almost finished with a refurb on a trailer I built back in '91. While it was stripped down, I harvested a bunch of links from a light chain. These are welded all along the inside of the trailer frame. Wires are run through them and ty-wrapped . With the rounded surfaces, abrasion shouldn't be a problem.

That's a clever idea - it would have never occurred to me. I just use half inch EMT bent to shape to protect trailer wiring.

I've used 1/2" black 'poly' pipe for decades, 100% front to back, both sides.
Also solder the connections INSIDE the housings.

I tried to.... "solder the connections INSIDE the housings"..... once.
Soldering iron was so tiny/weak it just would not melt the solder "inside the housings" . :ROFLMAO:

That's pretty clean. (y)

I think you'll find the white tie wraps will give you a year or two, maybe 3 at the most before they get so brittle they'll break if you smile at them. The black ones hold up much better. They aren't degraded by UV nearly as badly as the white ones.

UV shouldn’t be an issue beneath a trailer. I use EMT or other conduit…last job was flexible EMT.

It is. Reflections! Not as bad as in full direct sunlight, of course, but it still matters. BTDT.
The Toronto Transit Commission just recently scrapped all the white tie wraps and changed to black. They had continual issues with the white on their bus fleet.
