EDIT: Rec'd wrong bolt... per pic; will call tomorrow should have rec'd the other bolt & hopefully put it aside for me if / when it got to the dealer ... long story... won't bother... lol

EDIT: UPDATE - Solved - Bolt that holds HST on there is missing. Will walk around with a magnet and order one if not found.

Developed a fast leak from where the handle of the Wescott wrench is pointing in the photo. I've looked at the shop manual, parts diagrams, searched google and in the groups and can't figure out what this is and why it may be happening. Tractor was running okay, although it seemed louder of late at higher revs and I didn't figure out what that may have been. FEL & 3 pt hitch all worked fine. It occurred after mowing including some tall grass over a weeping field. Gallons seeped out quite quickly when I was done. Added some to identify and can confirm that this appears to be the source of the leak. Hints welcome. Thanks!

It looks like there should be a bolt there and since it is missing, likely popped the gasket between those two mating surfaces.

That's what I told him on TBN yesterday. Looks pretty obvious a bolt is missing.

Yes per the update - the bolt - p/n K2561-14010 was finally sourced correctly, shipped by the dealer & just received $40CDN + tax... Have yet to find procedure for installing or torque spec in manual. Only noticed these 2 comments now. I guess no notifications get to me from this site. Thank you for your input. I am hoping the gasket is not completely fried so I can do what I need to do while monitoring the leak. Ideally it solves it, or at least reduces it so I can use the backhoe before winter. If medium leak then I'll have to tear down before snow-moving due in a month or so...

posting from shop manual, was close... it's on 2-S21 in Transaxle Section... I was looking in hydraulics. That stuff doubled in price... need a new source... dealer is looking so hopefully next time I need to buy it, they will have sourced something I can trust to replace their UDF with. Anyway, I think this is the torque spec, 28.9-32.5 ft-lbs. just wondering if there is more procedure that I should know before installing it. The teflon tape it had on the threads is a promising sign... crossing fingers...

Wow, that long of a bolt.....I'd be keeping my fingers crossed it fell out and didn't break off!

Might stick a piece of wire down the hole and see how far it will go in before bottoming out. Then compare that length of wire to how long the bolt is.

There is no way that they shipped me the correct bolt. There are 2 types of 4 that hold the HST in place. That cannot go in so could not have fallen out... Will receive the shorter one tomorrow. We'll see from there. Crossing fingers.
