M125x rear rim (2018)

I felt a problem in the rear when finishing bush hogging. I get out and left rear is pissing air and fluid. I look closer and 3 mounting plate bolts are gone! Snapped. Look closer and three of the mounting plates on the rim are cracked. I walk to the other side and notice for the first time it’s a different rim. 12 bolts vs 8 and no cheesy mounting plates. I call the previous owner and he says “oh yeah, forgot to tell you a few years back I was cutting a pasture and the entire wheel broke off!” He calls Kubota and they sell him a new (and improved) hub, rim and tire.

Question 1: How is this not. Safety recall situation?

Question 2:Any suggestions short of spending a fortune on a new hub, rim and tire?

Welder and Grade 8 bolts.

Ditto remove tire then weld cracks install grade 8 bolts then torque nuts to spec's then remount tire.

Do you know if the bolts thread to the cast iron disk/hub? At first glance, I thought I saw threads that the bolts stripped when they snapped. I like the idea of welding the mounting plates and using the recommended bolts. I was worried that it will just happen again if there are threads that are stripped in the disk/hub.
