Well, here's my latest PO headscratcher... :D

Are the rear wheels on "inside out" :confused: :eek:

as you can see in the attached photos;

the collar/clamp is on the inside.

In all the manuals, it shows it on the outside....

this widens the track, but not much axle now shows through the wheel

also, shouldn't the "pin" go through the hole in the axle?

Help/advice much appreciated.

thanks!

I flipped my wheels on the b6000 to add more stability, since I live in hilly terrain and the tractor likes to threaten me with unpleasant dismounts. Flipping tires is quite common on these older models. The extra few inches can mean a big difference to your stability.

The axle goes through a bit farther on the b6000, but I don't believe yours looks to be an issue. Others may chime in and disagree, but that axle hub looks nice and beefy and is the main strength in your axle to wheel setup. Make sure the clamp bolts are nice and tight, since the wheels will wobble if they are not.

The collar/clamp on my B6100E is on the inside like yours is. Which thinking about it seems to be where'd you want it so it doesnt get hung up on something from the ground. If you flip the rims over and have the clamp out thats going to but the traction bars on the tire in the wrong direction unless you break the tires off the rim and turn them around. Which I made that huge headache of a mistaking mounting new tires on my rims myself. I put one on backwards.

Don't you get round this issue by swapping wheel from one side of the tractor to the other?.

The pin is going through a hole in your axle. The hole in the axle that is farthest out is on a different set of flats than the others.
And yes you can swop the tire&wheel from side to side instead of dismounting the tires from the wheels to change the tread direction.

I rebuilt the hub/clamp on my 1980 B7100 & that's how I installed mine when finished. I like the wider stance & worked great skidding out firewood last winter.
