Hey folks. I've had a T1870 for 10+ years and we love it but the deck is shot and now I'm considering an update/upgrade. I have found 2 options close by and wanted input and pros/cons.

The first is a G1800S - Diesel, 54" Deck, 4W Steer option with a little over 500 hrs.

Second option is a GR20210 - Gas, 54" Deck, AWD, "Power" steering - less than 200 hours.

We have several acres of grass that we mow. A few slopes but primarily flat grass but plenty of trees and other objects to mow around. From what I've read, the G1800 is pretty heavy duty and in mi opinion just looks to be built better.

FYI the price range is the same - literally within a couple of hundred dollars so that is not a factor.

What say you? Any specifics to look for or be aware of with either model?

I appreciate any and all input.

Thanks!

I have a G2160 - 21HP diesel with 60" deck and 600 hours. JMO - the diesels are light years ahead of the vertical shaft gas engines.

Diesel and alternative fuels would settle that for me

Yeah I certainly agree on the diesel aspect as well. I am looking for specific pros or cons about these specific models from those that may have had experience with them. Thanks

Having 3 all diesels that's where my heart is. Out if all selections in GA I'm looking to put an 1800 or 1900 in the garage with the others shortly.

I accidentally came across and swapped for a G1900 in 2020. Other than the famed u joint at the trans being bad and a half bad combination box it is great. I fixed both and use it for yard work and a back up for my ZTR. Mine only had 619 hrs and is in real good shape. I vote G1800/1900 all the way if in good condition. Kubota 1.jpg Kubota 2.jpg
