Finish Mower with a quick hitch?

Good Friday morning,

I'm awaiting delivery of an l4060HST (ordered 1 year ago and just arrived at the dealership). I'm purchasing an LP brush hog for heavy cutting around a field, roads, and such. I'm interested in a finish mower for the field itself (approximately 7 acres of grass and light weeds). The only video I can find connecting a finish mower to a quick hitch (also LP) is for the LP grooming mower. Does anyone have experience connecting other (read cheaper) brand finish mowers to a LP QH?

If the cheaper brand is quick hitch compatible ie will hook right up

It may be a very hit-or-miss situation with anything other than Land Pride. I have a Land Pride FDR 1660 that connects to my Land Pride QH 10, but it is not a normal connection. The QH 10 bottom hooks grab the mower's floating arms, but the top connection is made by the QH 10 plates (come with the QH 10) linking to the mower's top floating yoke. The entire connection allows the mower to float over a very wide arc. The QH 10's top hook is not touching anything.

I have a 1660 with a Speeco quick hitch and I honestly think I would be faster hooking up without the quick hitch. I have to put an adapter on for the mower to operate properly. If I remember tomorrow I will get a pic.

Although it might sound odd, I am using the recommended method for the finish mower per its manual.

You won't know until you try. My speeco QH will hit the PTO shaft if I drop the 3PH all the way.

And - Yes, I agree it is a try/test it situation with anything other than LP, and even an LP might have limitations depending on the tractor and mower.
