I had the BX2380 with a 54 inch drive over deck. I put 1.5 inch wheel spacers on it, and they just cleared the left rear gauge wheel.

The BX23S I am getting this week will have the regular 54 inch MMM. Will my wheel spacers fit? Or do I have to get smaller ones?

Thanks

Try to 'search' this forum... I know it's been discussed but I don't have a MMM on my BX23S, have a cheapy rider for 'grass work'.....

Same here. I have a ZTR for grass cutting, it cuts better than the deck on the old BX22, and it takes half the time to cut the same area. I don't see the BX23S being any better than my old BX22. If you are using the BX23S as a lawn mower, you really should take both the loader and backhoe off first. This is my opinion, and others might disagree. They just add weight to the machine and cut down on productivity when you are close to any objects that you don't want to damage.

Thats strange. My BX23S cuts beautiful. Looks like the ball park grass when im done! And yes I remove the loader and backhoe. Maybe you need to check the blades level front to back and side to side???? Oh and comfort, roomy, and power steering cant be beat! I will never go back to that uncomfortable little rider!

IIRC when I was checking into spacers, I found out I could only go with 1 1/2" so I did without. Actually, I don't really need spacers on my property!

Well I just received my BX23S with a 54 inch MMM. I measured the distance from the edge of the wheel to the edge of the gauge wheel. The 1.5 inch spacer will not fit. I am pretty sure a 1 inch spacer wouldn't fit. I have the R14 tires. So I guess my friend with the BX2380 will get the 1.5 inch spacers. FYI

I am having the same thought about my BX1880 with the 54" MMM and turf tires. There seems to be less than 1 inch clearance. Is anyone with an BX1880 and the 54" MMM using spacers?

Install the spacers and see how well the mower deck fits. It might just fool you and work. You will never know for certain until you give it a try. Besides, if you have the backhoe on the tractor, you don't even need to jack it up to remove the wheel. If I have to explain why you shouldn't own a BX23S!

Just an update - Yesterday I finally installed 1.4" Bro-Tek spacers on my BX1880 with the 54" mid mount mower. A little finiky getting the wheels on the studs with deck on but they fit with a little room to spare so 1.5" might fit this configuration.

re: they fit with a little room to spare , might need more tha a 'little room' for deck movement considerations...

Also , interesting how Bro-Tec scams the JD guys an extra $30 for the same product......
