Not whining cause I knew it was gona happen one day but it came sooner than I thought.. Doc said right one is bad left is worse,, nothing left in the joint,, soo he said when I cant take it any more call him,,, I jumped (crawled) on Lil Red and went to lift it and the knee caved in and it went right back down,, good thing the kick stand was down or I would have been up shyt creek with out a paddle. So while I have been told it aint no big thing, and Doc explained it,, still I would like to hear from somebody that's been there and done it. And then he said I should think about the right knee as well.

I have not had a knee replacment but after working as a lineman for 36 years and been farming all my life . I know several people who have had knees replaced, everyone says the operation isnt a real big deal but you are goinging under the knife, What they all say is do all the rehab they throw at you dont slack off thats when ya start having problems. Good luck and God bless.....Dan

Skeets, Dan is right. anymore the knife isn't the bad part. If you have been a fairly active person and aren't a person with a pain threshold thats so low its basically nonexistent you'll be fine. Rehab is just that, rehab. Its meant to work you not a vacation as some want to treat it going in. They think that they are there to just be waited on, WRONG!!! My Mother is a pretty crippled up person and cant get around. She had her "L" knee done, made it through great. She had a lot of pain issues but, she does have a chronic pain problem for the last 80 years.(no joke, first surgery at 4yr old.)

If you go into it as you are gonna whoop a tiger without over doing it as it does have to heal, you'll be fine.

Just keep us updated!

I had my right knee replaced in 2009. I was 49 at the time. Young for a total replacement I was told. I am a lineman still today and my climbing skills are better. There was a bit of pain during rehab but it was all worth it. Be sure to do your homework finding an Orthopedic surgeon. I had seven second opinions before I believed the Dr I chose. Take care of the new knee too. It will last a lot longer than if you beat on it.

My wife had her right knee replaced 2 days after Christmas. It is great, now.

Biggest thing that helped her was a lot of therapy before and after the surgery.

Had my L. knee replaced 15 months ago, at 69, best decision I ever made. Drug up and do the physical therapy...other wise you will have limited travel and use. You want about 120 degrees bend when finished. Today mine is 100%, no pain and works great!!

My buddy next door had it done. I think they must have put something experiential in there because he don't stop at anything now. Sorry to hear about your knees. I'm sure you'll be ok but just for some insurance I'll keep you in my prayers ;)

Well my friend I know it's all a pain in the arse but your on the recovering end of it all now and that means every day will get a little better. Keep your chin up and think positive. You might not get to use your tractor right away BUT when you do get back oh it you'll be able to stay on it twice as long as you could before ;)

My next door neighbor had her knee done and now she's as good as new.
I'm not sure how good I'm in with the big guy but I'll keep you in my prayers. :)
