The best way to tow a trailer is to hook it to the draw bar. The problems include having to dismount to hook up the trailer. You must watch the tongue of the trailer hitting the 3 point arms. The biggest problem might be trying to find a trailer ball, if needed, to fit the draw bar.
The option several people go with is to attach the trailer to the 3 point hitch. There at least 2 ways to do this. Understand that there is nothing to keep the 3 point from coming up. If you over load the rear of the trailer the tongue will raise up.

Not sure on the B2650 but my B2601 came with a draw bar, I just needed a 2" ball with extra long threads from Tractor Supply. I just brought the draw bar along and made sure the one with long threads was long enough to pass through the bar and get the lock washer/nut on. I always keep the drawbar w/ball on with any of my implements except the PTO driven ones. For them I pull the drawbar out.
I considered a 3pt option for my trailer but had three reservations. First was it cost more and was harder to deal with than just a $10 ball from Tractor Supply. The other reason was that since I'm dealing with extreme hills I didn't like the possibility of to load lifting the 3pt. The last item was that the drawbar is rated for something like 2klb of down pressure just about under the rear tires. The 3pt route plus quick hitch would have been way behind the tractor. Not a major issue but I just like having the heavy load anchored closer in and not on the 3pt.

Yes a ball is all you need. Standard sizes are 1 7/8, 2 or 2 5/16 inches. As tureg50 suggested remove the drawbar and take it with you so the bolt on the ball hitch fits correctly in diameter as well as in length.
What was bent? Mine isn't. Been using it over 3 years now pulling boat trailers with boats and my 4x8 trailer. Much easier to line up and raise the ball to the hitch than lower the trailer hitch to the ball.

I use my 3-point receiver adapter for a lot of different work, including trailer hauling. I haven't had a problem with the trailer tongue pushing up the 3-point. It's happened, but no damage or any other issue ensued. Was when dumping a firewood load the load pushed down the back of the trailer as it slid off, trailer front went up to 3-point limit, so I pulled forward slowly and 3-point slowly lowered. No worries. I'm ready for it.
The hitch adapter lives on top of my box scraper when not attached, handy, and is an added rear ballast and box scraper working down-weight, too.

I’d recommend something like nbryan has there…another option, if you don’t have one already would be a ballast box that has a receiver already (or add one to your existing ballast box if you have one).
