Has anyone ever done a germ test on feed oats from TSC?

I would suggest you study the seed rules of the state. Pretty stringent rules on what can be used for seed.

We're from the same state. What do you know?

I know that farmers are not allowed to plant anything out of the bin or from an elevator. It all has regulations that I do not fully know or understand. It is about weeds and such. Any cover crop seed must come from a seed house. I would suggest you contact your county agent to see what he can tell you. I just deal with alot of farmers and my brother farms our land. Do not want to see someone get in hot water.

Maybe what you're thinking of is the Roundup Ready soy beans. All kinds of litigation over farmers saving back seed and planting and the chemical company not liking the need for not buying more of their product.

That's from GMO crops. The seed companies patent the genes that they they tweak.

I plant (broadcast) feed wheat in my fall wildlife plots with very good results. The feed wheat instead of seed wheat, was recommended by my local COOP to save money. Occasionally, there is a bag of feed oats mixed in with the wheat. I plant the oats & they grow fine. Deer really like them.
