V2403-CR-T-EF04 vs V2403-CR-EF02

Sorry if this is a already covered post but i did try and find it before starting this post...

So, I'm new to all this Kubota world and I've learned it's a bit difficult to find information on their engines or so it seems to me. My L6060 ran hot (thanks to a friend) and after pulling the head, the engine is toast.

My thought is instead of rebuilding, I want to replace the engine as I have a company locally that put Kubota engines in generators and air compressors that sale the "COZMETIC" damaged NEW engines at descent prices with sales paper work for warranty purposes.

My model number is V2403-CR-T-EF04.

The one they use the I believe will work (with changing over all my turbo stuff) is, V2403-CR-EF02.

My question is, with only needing the engine and not the turbo etc. am I correct in saying if I transfer all my V2403-CR-T-EF04 engine’s extra's to the V2403-CR-EF02 engine I’m good?

Interesting situation; I assume that the two engines are more or less identical? But, your tractor engine has a turbo?

Would that mean that one engine was 'rated' for a higher power?

Obviously, the generator would be run at a steady constant RPM while running, other than minor fluctuations. Tractor would likely see many different RPM situations and could benefit from the occasional turbo boost.

Unless there's some ascertainable reason that one 'version' would be different internally from the other, then your swap sounds feasible. I'm not sure, but a turbo-equipped engine may utilize different combustion chamber components (including pistons) for a slightly different compression ratio. That could mean different heads, possibly different cooling components, etc., etc.

It might and it might not, being an emissions engine I would be very leery of that swap.
If not everything matches up that computer may not like the engine.
There is V2403-CR-T-EF04 available for around $8K.

The 2018 is a M and not a CR so its different as I saw that one the other day.

The 2015 is a TI and mine is a T so again I wasn't sure if my ecu would run the engine as I don't have the intercooler. I would assume the engine itself would not care but..... I would also assume the none turbo basic engine would all be the same from a manufacturing ease of build for multiple apps.. but I have no idea. But if I knew the TI would be a drop in I'd do that. Plus that engine is only $4k more than the one i can get locally. I'm not against the $4k more engine but, $4k is $4k.

I just wish I could find the parts breakdown of the turbo-ed vs the none turbo-ed. if all internals are the same that would mean the basic engine (V2403) is the and I'm good.

I think if you were to change out the injectors and sensors for all of yours it shouldn't know the difference.
Let me dig into this a little more and see if I can give you a better answer as to the parts differences.

I have an L6060 that needs an engine as well. I has the same engine code, V2403-CR-T-EF04. I am looking an engine with the code V2403-CR-EF07. I am planning on doing the exact same swap as lostinspace. Swap engine, but keep turbo and all electronics in the L6060. Did this swap ever happen?

The hydraulic pump adapter is different.
The drive gear for the hydraulic pump has to be swaps,
Hell even the exhaust manifold studs are different and will have to be swapped.

The swap is still on going. If and only if nothing else comes up the swap may be done in a week or so. The last of the hay cutting is holding things up at the moment.

Are the rotating assemblies the same at least? same rods and pistons? What about head? I am anticipating having to swap things over, just hoping to leave the new engine mostly intact. Have you been able to just take things off of the old engine and put them on the new one?
