Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

Bluegill - Thanks very much for the info. The tech must have gotten his tractors mixed up. I an VERY happy with my purchase.

Hi Bluegill. If your L3800 can run a six footer, then 5 foot should be a piece of cake! Will you be running it on any hills? I have a couple of maybe 10 degree inclines where I will be mowing. I'd be curious to know how your tractor handles inclines with the six footer. I will be taking photos of my tractor this weekend, and will post as soon as I can. Thanks for your helpful info. Carl

Finished the field, 3-4 acres. The 3800 handled the 6 footer with easy and had power to spare. The only thing I didn't like is the mower sticking out 6" past the rear tires, gotta be careful gettin up close to stuff.

This field was flat, but I do mow some hills and have had no problems. Usually I have the 5' Land Pride mower on it. But I will use the 6 footer on some of our larger fields later this summer.

Even more impressed with the 3800 now!

Hello All,

As promised, here are a couple pictures we took of the new tractor today. I'm glad I picked the L3800. I think it's all the tractor I need, and it's a beauty! Thanks for all your support, and answering my newby questions.

Carl

I really miss the square hoods of the older L model Kubotas, back when they had 3 digits in their model number and not 4.

Wow, great looking tractor. Beautiful land, too. I envy you guys with green grass. Out here, it's all brown by June.

I do get a little tingle when I see a nice old square hood L model, but the look of these new ones is growin on me. I miss my old L245, but I like the L3800 a whole more!!!

Not just for looks... The square hood on our old L3750 is so large, it's hard to see what the loader is doing. Much easier to work with the L3800, where you can see the loader while sittin in the seat. ;)
