There's really not a whole helluva lot of difference between the two. Styling and mild changes in horse power are about it. The "L" series offers what Kubota calls a "standard" tractor, they can be either HST or Gear tranny. The Grand L series are mostly HST to Glide shift Tranny. I think honestly theres a slight price difference between the two but its really not that much. According to Kubotas website the Grand L's are a "premier" tractor. The two largest models in the Grand L series offer cabs.

On the new models the Grand L40 has the HST+ transmission with a LOT of features not on the L Series.

The GL is a heavier tractor with different, less exposed steering linkage, flat operator's deck, tilt steering, extendable lower 3PH links, smoother operating 3PH; Google or check on You Tube for "jerky 3PH" on the Lxx00 Series.

Go to a dealer and find the two models side by side and you will see quite a few differences. Whether these differences are worth the added cost is up to the individual.

Thanks for your replys my friends , My buddy and I got to looking at my L3830 2006 model and came to the conclusion that its a Grand L it has the extending 3 pt hitch arms tilt sterring wheel and some extra sheet metal under the seat that one of the neighbors doesnt.I bought the tractor second hand with 640 hrs on it so I called the local dealer gave them the serial # and they confermed that it is a Grand L . Thank you guys again live and learn been around tractors all my life and still learn every day.

There's a Hugh differance in the two series tractors. The L series is a "basic" no frills machine whereas the GL are full of the "bells and whistles". Electronics are the biggest feature and all around comfort features. Styling is different as well.

Well don't include an air ride seat on the Grand L because they don't come with one  Your lucky to get a seat at all with the regular L :p
Cost me $1100. Plus a days work to make an air ride seat fit In the Grand L :D

Kubota said you can't put an air ride seat in a Grand L
