Lol it’s so funny these internet sites…I give a heads up on an upgrade for a better air filter system and everyone wants to tell you how you’re doing it wrong…clown world🤡🤡🤡
You stated that" that Kubota SHOULD put on their zero turns from the factory.) " I just stated the reason they did not include the larger filter. NO where did I say that anyone was doing anything wrong!!!

When I mowed last week with my new z422, the dust was so bad I actually choked and got dust in my eyes…this prompted me to check my air filter and man o man it was packed! I cleaned it and blew the dust out but started thinking about upgrading to a more commercial air filter setup (which Kubota puts on their higher end models)
Lo and behold I found a company that makes an upgrade kit for my Kawasaki engine! The kit includes a commercial style canister filter (with inner and outer filters) and mounting hardware. I ordered it right away. The guy that sells these has a website called “powerequipmentman.com”
This will be a major upgrade to the air filter system ( that Kubota SHOULD put on their zero turns from the factory.)
Looks like it would be possible to assemble that same kit for 60% of the "powerequipment.com" cost.
Their price incl shipping = $238.
Parts cost ....most are available on Amazon:
Donaldson filter housing G042545 filter housing =$55.30
Donaldson H002068 inlet hood =$30.99
Filter set = $15.99
Hose = $20 ??
Scrap piece of 10ga steel to bend for mount = ???
Misc. = $18
Everything required for under $140
$98 less than buying the complete kit, and a very simple project!

Edit: I just ordered most of the materials for $113.13.
I still need two large hose clamps, ( I actually plan on using two of my wide 2' zip ties instead ) and the hose piece itself... $20+??
I am still expecting to spend about $100 less than the $238 "kit" price.
A big difference in my opinion.

Never mulched a blade of grass in my life and I won’t start now…🤣
I had 30 mature oaks in my front yard, 50 total on my two acres. I installed a mulching kit on my z121s to deal with all the leaves 😁😁😁

I've got 50+ trees on my little over 2 acres and yes the mulching system is great for leaves!

Wasn’t necessarily directed at you but all the ones who turned this informative thread about a filter upgrade into a “mulch”’thread.
Ya know, either reply about the original content or save your preaching for someone else’s thread that has the context you’re so eagerly looking for. 🤡
