Hst pedal don't return to neutral

Hi, my first post here,

I have a L4600 tractor, that the HST pedal don't return to neutral, i need to press on the reverse to stop the tractor.

It's a 2013 tractor with 900 hours.

I thought it could be the damper, i removed it and the problem is still there.

There are a lot of moving parts, and i can't see any greasing zurt.

Any input will be appreciated

My experience is with the earlier HST version, but problems can be in the external control linkage - your hunch about the damper was in the right area. Its possible the servo regulator or servo piston has gotten out of adjustment - the zero point between forward and back is very sensitive. On mine the actuating rod had gotten slightly bent, so the machine would "creep" at mid-pedal. You could try experimenting with adjusting rod length as a starting point. Dick B.

I should add, not only it doesn't return to neutral, it sticks either to forward or reverse, once i press on the pedal it stays there.
The tech at Kubota just told me it could be the rod going throu the transmission or a bearing.

I'm trying to fix it myself... simply because of the cost of mob demob...

I would spray penetrating oil on all the linkage/pivot points first. Maybe several times over several days. Then if things loosed up I would lubricate with heavier oil.

Can't hurt to try. IF the issue is internal doing this will not affect it anyway...you will not make it worse.

I realize you stated you do not see a zerk. Look closely. Mine was hidden by other components. Some of the older (2006) tractors have a grease zerk at the pivot point. Not returning to neutral (safety switch) was an inherent issue, thus the no-start symptom.

Staying in either position is different than not fully centering when released. I agree with lubing everything you can get to.

I have this same issue with my G2160. Would love to know how to correct it. Seems to return just fine when not running. But when running it's a little stiff for lack of a better description. It's pretty funky linkage on it. I may try some spray lithium grease on the linkage.

I have a similar problem with my b7200. After spraying some lube on the contact points, it definitely helped the issue but has started to returned with use as the dust builds back up. I did notice a tensioner type spring in mine which adjustment is maxed out. Perhaps the spring is worn. I have seen miscellaneous springs at my local hardware store that might help by putting a heavier spring in it to assist the pedal returning to neutral. Assuming you have a spring like i do

Your linkage looks very similar to my old L5030, I looked it up on "Kubota parts finder Canada". Mine was not nearly as bad as you're, in that it returned to neutral but would shut off the engine when I got out of the seat. The bearing that rolls against the arm that the dampener is connected to was bad. My damper was also weak and sticky. Plus the linkage was a little out of adjustment. There is a rod with two ball joints in it that connects the hst pedal to the arm that the damper is connected to, disconnect the rod, then you can isolate the problem to one side or the other. My recommendation is to purchase the service manual, you can purchase a pdf version and download it, it is well worth the money. Then "IF" you feel comfortable doing this, disassemble that linkage and clean/lube/repair as needed. Then adjust the linkage back to spec. Hope this helps.

Well I jacked up the machine the other day, dropped the deck and was able to spray some penetrating grease into a couple more places. Freed up quite a bit. I need to do it again but with a helper working the linkage via pedal while I am under it doing the spray.
Finally i simply removed 2 bushings lightly sanded and put it back together. With grease.. nearly cost = 0$

Still sticky. Worse when running than when not. Not sure why. Still going to try once I get a helper to work the pedal while I spray in lube
