LP SGC0548 48" Grapple compatible with new B2601?

Does anyone know if the SGC0548 48" Grapple might be compatible with a new B2601? It does not come up as compatible on the Land Pride Web Site. I like the 48" Grapple for its light weight and narrow size. Just planning on lightweight brush, limb and cord wood work on my hilly property. Want to keep loads light, low and narrow. Also like the closely spaced teeth and the parking stand. Otherwise plan to use the tractor mainly for snow removal, some brush hogging, gardening and whatever else comes up. One month into B2601 / SGC0554 ownership.....My salesman, a very knowledgable tractor guy, reccomended the 54" for the B2601. I was thinking 60" initially, didn't even consider the 48".

I too wanted a narrower grapple for maneuvering in the woods. The 54" does not open as wide as the 60" and also lacks grease zerks for the main hinges. Other than that it's AWESOME.

It does not come with 'feet' like the 60" but it'll stand on the tines if you open it up a bit.

If it's not showing up on the LP chart, it may be too narrow for the QA on the BX.

Thanks very much for this. So the 54" works fine with your new B2601? I wonder why Landpride does not show them as compatible.

Also, as far as parking the grapple on partially open tines goes:
- Is it easy to pick up with the SSQA if it is leaning forward on its partially open tines?
- Do you know if storing partially open and leaning on the tines bothers the hydraulics at all?

I wondered the same thing myself about not being listed as compatible/recc'd for B2601. I wondered about the small differences between it & the 60" version.

At this point it's working flawlessly and I'm grateful for the slightly smaller footprint. I've done some back raking (it's in the manual) and some forward scooping, gotta proceed slowly and get good with the loader stick.

The grapple will 'balance' on the bottom edges of the lower tines, but it's not very stable. My normal method is open tines 1/4 of max, then uncurl until both sets of tines are at the same horizontal level. Place gently, all tines in contact. Inside the garage keeps the unit out of the sun, less chance for pressurized hoses during next use. Can't think of any 'down sides' to the hydraulics, but the stability of that position makes QA EZ.

I thought the loader was somewhat of a steep learning curve (after the treadle pedal) but the 3rd function/grapple combo really piles it on
