Have a MX on order but it’s taking a while to come in. Never drove one but know the L will be a little small. I currently have a Ford 1900 and needing a larger tractor to clear maintain 20 mostly wooded acres. I drove the M5660 and it felt bigger than expected but I have never really drove a tractor with a FEL. Dealer doesn’t have a MX to compare so for anyone that has drove both is the much difference when driving? The M5660 is about the same price. Thanks for any input

Thanks for the reply. Put a grapple on it to maintain and clear some more of the property. Only have a 4 ft brush hog on the old tractor (I will be keeping) so would like to also use new tractor for brush hogging with a larger mower.
Looking at the spec. the M is about 10 in longer than the MX and about 3 foot more turning radius. I think not ever having a FEL on a tractor it might be a learning curve on whatever I get. What makes the M interesting is if I while waiting on the MX one more price increase makes it more expensive. But the M is more tractor than I intended to buy.
A close friend has a m5640, basically the same tractor pre tier IV. It is a lot of machine in the woods. It leaves ruts in fields the smaller machines don't, but it can do things they can't!
Yes that what I’m thinking. Never thought about the M series until this one showed up at the dealer. I was happy with my decision to upgrade from the L to the MX but been waiting a while.
Does anyone know if Kabota builds a sold order get built before dealer stock?
Been waiting on an 2 month overdue dealer stock tractor maybe I need to order it and it will get here sometime this year.
I love my M5660! It has exceeded expectations thus far. Slightly bigger frame size than the MX units.

I have the tractors shown in my signature and the M is a lot more tractor than the MX ... a lot more!!! The MX is a great tractor, no question, but the M5660, M6060 and M7060 are more farm grade than hobby grade.
Thanks for the replies. Mcmxi your sig. picture with both tractors in it confirms what I was thanking there not much difference in size, but as you put it the M5660 is more farm grade. I didn’t thank about the tractor ruts due it’s weigh more so than the MX. I need to make up my mind I’m sure it’s not going to last long, just not many 50/60 hp tractor’s on the lots.
It’s not my money or property, but if you have a machine already you can mow with and don’t need the PTO, have you consider a compact wheel or track loader? I have a B which I use at my residence (home a few acres and a small woods) and I have an Mx at a second property that is mainly forest and hobby farm. I pull a wagon, some very small hobby type implements and use a tiller and lots of loader and woods work. I really need a loader. But have the MX as a compromise. If or when I ever move to second place I would likely only need the B and a loader. Just a thought if you are keeping a current tractor. Tracked loaders would have better flotation than mid size tractor so less ruts if worried about that. Loader would be far superior to a tractor for loader work and if the price of an Mx or M it might be a consideration. Good luck.

Here are some better photos showing the size difference between the (from left to right) MX6000HST, MX6000HSTC and M6060HDC. The photos don't really convey the size difference that well. The M is way more tractor.
I don't have fancy lawns to drive on but I haven't noticed a problem with the Ag R1 tires on the M6060 rutting up the ground much at all as compared to the R4 tires on the MX.

Looks like you got the optional oversized radials on your M6060 I had those on my 7040 they are a nicer ride and easier on turf I need new tires on my M135 I hope I can get some nice radials without spending too much

The rear tires are the 16.9-28 R1 Ags that came on the tractor. The front wheels/tires were 9.5-24 R1 Ags but I replaced them with 320/85R20 R1W Ags on 20" wheels. Much better looking, nicer riding, more stable and easy on the dirt.
I cut a very hilly and bumpy 8 to 9 acres on Sunday but never needed 4WD.

The local Kubota dealer had the best price. I paid $1,549 for the wheels, tires and delivery. I've seen the tires alone for $900 each.

It would be even better if I could sell the front wheels and tires that came with the tractor!
I should put them on Craigslist. Maybe some local farmer could use them. The tires are around $300 each and the steel wheels must be $150 each or more, so maybe $900 if purchased through a Kubota dealer.

Minor point - are both capable of class 1 and/or class 2 3ph? What size implements will you be using?
Potreeboy, mostly the grapple to clean up and clear/maintain the land. A bigger bush hog and box blade to maintain the driveway. So whichever tractor I get I will need new implements. Due to having the Ford 1900 I’m thinking the M5660 will be fine I will just need to get use to it.
The M5660 is the best bang for the buck for what you're looking to do and the models you are looking at. They are great machines.
