How long should the hydraulic lines be for my new grapple? I have the Kabota factory third function. Thank you

Kind of tough to say without a picture. I'd guess the quick connects are mounted at the front of the loader arms on the cross piece. Need to measure from that point to the connections on the grapple, and then have enough slack to roll the grapple all the way forward and as high as it will go. That means the hose will have slack when not in the upper/extended position and may need bungied off to keep hoses from being pinched.

Might take an old garden hose and tape one end to the connect on the tractor and guess what you might need, then cut and tape the other end to grapple. Then play with the grapple and see how how you did! When you come to a workable conclusion have hoses made to that length.

You want it "long enough". Put the grapple in full dump. get out a tape measure. You want enough slack you aren't straining the couplers and fittings. You don't want it too loose that it causes hang ups on your loader.

Long enough to accommodate the range of motion without putting stress on the couplers.

grab an old ,beatup, leaky garden hose NOT the wife's new one...) and 'cut to required length'. Use tape to secure the 'tractor end' then 'go max distance'.If the hose are different lengths, be sure to mark which is which.......

The hoses on my LX2610 with the Kubota 3rd function and a 55" EA root rake grapple are 46" long so that should give you some idea. But yes as others have said the best way is to use an old hose to mock up the best length so they are long enough but also will not drag when you are curled back all the way.

Why the question? Doesn't your grapple come with hoses?

Thanks for the replies. I purchased the grapple and it will arrive in one month. The manufacturer wants to know how long I want the hoses.

OK. It's been quite a while since I ordered an EA Wicked 60. I remember discussing the types of fittings I would need but I don't remember if we discussed hose length or not. I think they shipped it with a hose length of 50".

When you finally damage a hose, NAPA and other auto shops can make a replacement. Hoses that are exposed like the grapple, buy off the shelf hoses and whatever collection of adapters (90's, swivels, ect) to make it work. Nothing like having a $20 hose lying around for a quick repair.
