Well R14 tires are on....

Just got around mounting them on the BX2200D tractor. It had very good turf tires on it but, it was a little lacking when using the front bucket for hard work and, damp conditions. I don't mow with this tractor so...time for a change. I decided on the R14T tire that my Kubota parts pro recommended, he quoted me a price of $538. 4 tires with new rims and, mounted out the door...I thought it a great price, bought them.

I bought a set for my BX23S and they were $650. I really like the rears but I did not like that the front rim was exposed since the tire is not wide enough to protect, I also thought the fronts were priced high compared to the rears (only $40 diff).

I have a set of 8 ply BKT's on the front and decided I prefer those so returned the fronts, if the price had been better I might have keep them to try out, maybe later if I find a good price.

Yes, I thought it odd but, was told that 8" was discontinued so they went to the 10" rims but, had to maintain the correct height for the
4wd sync. I would think that they should have redesigned the tire rather than exposing the rim. All in all they seem to work very well.

I wouldn't have cared for that as well. I'm very glad mine were pretty much the same sizes as the old tires. Bigger wheel size front and back on a B series may have helped too.

I think they work very well as they are, don't seem to rip up the yard even when wet, that's a plus.

There must be a different reason, since my BX2200 front wheels do not fit on my son in law's BX23S. Physically too small. So something changed on the front drive train that required a different wheel diameter for clearance, I suspect.

How’s the R14 ride compared to the turf tires you had on? Kubota shipped my BX with the R14’s as the turf weren’t available but they will replace the R14’s when the turf come in. Most of the BX will be mowing and I never had an issue with the turf tires on other SCUT’s I had. Am impressed with the R14’s not tearing up the yard, and we have sandy soil, but the ride is stiffer even with reduced pressure.

I have a B7510 and can't complain about the ride with r14 tires, but I'm used to r1 and r4 tires as well.

The ride is ok , traction when using the FEL in 4wd is great, but when mowing in moist grass be sure to disengage 4wd or you will tear turf
when making hard turns. All in all, R14 tires are very good all around.
