New User with Question about L2850 Lower Link Attachment

First I wanted to thank everyone on this forum. I've lurked and learned quite a bit over the last couple of years.

I inherited a Kubota L2850 from my grandfather. I've been using it to clear the driveway of snow, clear brush, move dirt, gravel, and some very large rocks.

When I got it, all of the 3pt hitch pieces were missing. I've finally gotten around to collecting everything except for the pins that connect the lower links to the chassis.

I'm pretty sure it's called a Lower Link Pin. I've seen all the ones at Tractor Supply and tons listed online, but none of them seem appropriate to this tractor.

All of the ones I've seen appear to bolt onto the tractor, but it looks like the pin I need would be something more simple that just slides into the 2 holes in the cast chassis, and is retained by a simple bolt and retaining plate.

I've attached a picture of the pivot point.

Am I wrong about this? I haven't been able to find a picture or reference to the pin, even in the Kubota parts manual. Am I missing something?

Also, if I'm right about the retaining plate, is mine too short. It barely overlaps the hole and it looks cut. Should it be longer?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd measure it, then take the picture down to the local Kubota dealer, Big R or tractor supply house and get whatever fits. Get a regular tractor pin - they are harder stuff than a dowel from Home depot. The pin should fit snugly - both the arm and the holes - but turn freely. It can be retained by a simple clip or cotter pin.
Keep it simple - you'll be fine.

Thanks for the response. I'll check Tractor Supply again to see if I can find a straight pin that will fit. I didn't want to do anything stupid with that connection.

This looks very similar to my L2900 set up. The pin should have a flange piece that the bolt shown in your photo will fit into. It looks like this bolt and flange piece has been broken off the original pin. Back out the bolt and broken off piece and take that to a dealer and buy a new one (or two) and you're good to go.

I second that. I like Tractor Supply, but made the incorrect assumption that they are cheaper on tractor hardware than the dealership is. I recently purchased two lower link pins from my Kubota dealership, because I was closer to it than TSC. I paid less for both from the dealership than for one at TSC.

I went to the closest dealer. They didn't have exactly what I needed in stock, and if they had it would have been outrageously expensive (over $20 per pin).

They did have some lower link pins that were the right diameter but too long.

I bought 2 (around $5 each), borrowed an angle grinder, and cut them down to size.

They cut much easier than I thought they would - I hadn't used an angle grinder before.

So, I now have all my 3pt hitch pieces together and working, and I got my chipper / shredder running.
