Hagrid, I agree and they'd be protesting in China about 200 coal fired power plants being built each year. We choke down all fuel consumption to save the planet, but what about those who don't?

Some disingenuity going on in here. If peeps REALLY cared about the planet they'd cut their grass with goats.

And live in a mud hut with no electricity.
Goats will kill the grass by eating it to short.

I use sheep like royalty of the past.

Geeses are ill-tempered and inappropriate.

Delightful goats are clearly indicated for residential lawn care.

I look at it this way... If I can buy/make a tool or machine or device to make work easier or to perform the function I need. That costs me less to operate then with in reason I am more than willing to spend extra to get that item to save me the operating cost. I simple example is A LED light bulb versus an incandesant one. The LED costs more to buy but is nearly 10 time cheaper to use.

I much prefer to keep the money in my pocket than the oil companies pocket for example...
99% or more of the time the operating cost far exceeds the purchase price of any tool or machine. Especially when you figure in the resale value of that tool or machine...

Just my $0.02

^^ this is the best thing that's happened in this thread :ROFLMAO: ^^

I love goats, my neighbor's farm has them, they are hilarious. I should have never bought the brush hog, I should have borrowed my neighbor's goats.

Don't let a goat near your equipment. They'll eat the seat, they'll eat the stickers off your license plate, they'll eat . . .

We plan on getting goats this fall. They have to be less ornery than ganders. I fed those stupid geese every day and that gander would attack me a couple times a week. My wife could walk right up and hug that stupid bird I am quite confident I would have lost an eye. any advise on goats? fencing? breeds? ticks? housing? maybe should be in a new thread. to stay on topic I have used about 10 gal in 30 hours. did pay $43.45 for 19 lts of diesel today. 2.28 lt approx 8.70 a gal

geese are wonderful its the ganders that do the snake head and attack every damn time you go to feed them.
They poop everywhere and fight loudly at 2am. Wakes up the dogs. We can't even let the dogs run around the yard free because all they do is eat goose poop and roll in it. If TVA wouldn't fine me I'd go after them with a paintball gun ;)

I had a pygmy goat named chipper back on the farm. Best darn pet ever. Was like a dog. Walked on a leash, came when you called. But he ate multi flower rose bushes like I eat chocolate cake. Great critter. Wonder if I could sneak a fence up out back and get one past the wife. Hmmmm.
