DD, that piece with the split looks like that orangeburg "stuff" of the '60's, not cast iron!
D2Cat,

This client actually had two issues. Split in cast iron and split in copper pipe.
I didn't get a pic of the split in the 4" cast iron pipe. The one shown above was a split in the 3" copper pipe which was the drain line inside the house. And yes, I believe the house was built in the late 60's.

I finally dug out that large Tree of Heaven stump with the backhoe. It only took me 11 months and 19 days, that is how long it took dealers and Kubota to get an in stock unit in working condition so I could use it.

To get an idea of how big this stump was, the trunk is 11" in diameter and the loader couldn't begin to lift it. That wood stays saturated with sap and water and is extremely heavy. I want to level the area and plant grass so it can be mowed, any roots will just spring up more growth. These trees feed and attract spotted lantern flies, so I am killing every one I find.

This stump was in the edge of the woods and I never thought that a sewer line would be next to large trees, but I broke into it, that repair will need to wait till next week. I guess the woods slowly expanded over the 49 years that the drain field was installed.

I installed a port into the side of the panel so I could much more easily plug in the battery tender. I was really tired of reaching down near the exhaust in the front to plug it in at the end of the day. SOO much handier now. The charger plug is tied to the rafters with a simple retractable dog leash so that when I unplug it from the tractor, it retracts out of the way, and when I need it, it's in easy reach to pull down and plug in.

What part number and where did you get the port?

Not much, but starting to think about service of the mower deck.

Always sharpen blades each spring.

Dang, swear I hit a bunch of hard stuff last year, but blades all look like this. Been using Gator blades for quite a while. Pretty stout.

I got the call that I didn't expect for a few months yet - my local dealer called to let me know the L805 loader and bucket I ordered for my L4060 should arrive next week. So I ordered a couple chain and binder kits so I can take it to dealer to get the loader attached. So excited!

I went to the farm today and helped dad pull the batteries from his tractor so he could take them into town and get new ones. While he was gone doing that I did some mowing and tried out my new ISOtunes Free Aware that the ife got me. They work really well and provide great hearing protection. If you need a gift idea for a loved one and they work around a noisy environment, these are well worth the money. They allow you to communicate normally and then cut off once the noise level gets too high (above 85db) and they will bluetooth to your phone and let you play music/podcast while you work.

Got the mowing around the field edges done and found a couple trees we need to clean up before planting. Dad got back with the batteries, but one of the brackets broke, so we couldn't finish the install, but at least we got the new batteries there.

When I got home, I did the yard work, weed eating and mowing. I went to blow off the driveway and sidewalk with my DeWalt blower and it seemed to work fine, but then would cut out. I tried it a couple of times and it kept doing the same thing. I checked the battery figuring it might be almost dead, but nope three bars. Reseated the battery just to make sure I had a good connection and it was still doing the same thing. Pull the trigger, it winds up and starts and then cuts out.

Being the great electrician I am, I knew it had to be the switch since I eliminated the battery. So, I'm turning the blower in all directions trying to look and see if I can see a problem with the switch. Everytime, pull the trigger and about three seconds later it cuts out. As I'm looking at the blower I notice dust/debris flying everywhere.

Me with my high level of intelligence was wondering what was causing all the dust and debris? Just as King Belshazzar saw the writing on the wall, the light came on for me and I realized the blower was working just fine and that my ISOtunes Free Aware works really good also.

Of course being the typical male, I had to quickly look around and see if anyone saw me being a moron, at which time I gave our neighbors a polite wave so they knew not to call the police thinking I had lost my mind.

Well, I confirmed for the neighbors what most already knew, that my wife had married a moron.

Most expensive wheelbarrow I’ve ever owned, and I’m not complaining one bit. 😎

Removed some tree pieces from 10-12 years ago to the right side of the driveway where it drops off quite sharply from the driveway.

Finished up by bush hogging there and climbing that steep slope up to the driveway. The B2601 is like a billy goat in L.

New lawn installation today. all 20'x20'! I looked ridiculous with the tractor and box blade on a townhouse lined street.

Anyway, this was for a dig job we did back in dec/jan. I managed to snag a 4" cleanout plug with the box blade. Sheared the "nut" right off the top of the pvc fitting. Of course, I didn't have any replacements on the truck so I called one of our install plumbers who wasn't far away.

Lawn regrading came out nicely, seed and straw. Quick $xxx. I just can't believe that the homeowners couldn't find the energy to do it themselves. It's rather astonishing.

I'm shocked they wanted to pay for that kind of work on a property the size of a large bedroom.

Me too. It's really quite sad.

I'm revising my guess as to the size to: 16' x 20' . Here's a shot of the before...I didn't bother taking an "after".
