I guess he probably claimed that his speedometer measured air speed rather than ground speed...and that due to strong tail winds he did not realize he was exceeding the posted speed limit...LOL

The new Hayabusa will do 186 (limited by electronics) off the show room floor. Wonder why this kid was going so slow.

First thought when I read the tag was somebody set a new speed record on their Kubota with aid from the high wind we had the last couple of days.

It is easy to outrun a single cop. Much harder to outrun a radio.
If the kid was smart and did not have a bail out route he might have stopped once he knew he was tagged.
Once ya run, the tickets add up real fast.
Our ABATE group in late 80's had a lawyer lecture at least once a year. Kept many newbies out of jail.
Yes sir, no sir, I was being really stupid.

Never got rid of a bike because of this ^ but early on recognized that, unless I was riding a Harley, the bike's capabilities surely exceeded mine, by a lot.
That said I did enough dumb things at speed on 2 wheels to just shake my head now.

Amen to that!
I remember once passing two tractor trailers on a two lane expressway, on a small Spanish road bike that would top out at 90 MPH if I laid down on the tank...

The road was blocked because one of the trucks was passing the other.

Of course, rather than wait, I passed BETWEEN the two trucks! Lucky to be alive today...for many more reasons than this one! Glad that was back when I was 19 or 20 and immortal!

Funny how you never think of these things until something like this post triggers them...

They tested a STOCK H2(R) in Dubai I think, 200+

They took the mirrors and side winglets off and ran it in Japan (IIRC) and it went 236. 300hp+ right off the showroom.

I took a little trip out west on my Indian Roadmaster. Got into Kansas. Clear day, couldn't imagine a bad day. Was on the interstate following my buddy that was towing his bike. He would do 10 MPH slower than the posted. We were getting passed by people pulling campers. I was getting beat up by the nonstop side winds. Saw a cattle hauler comming and the road was long and clear. I jumped out and took off and the most surprising thing happened. Where i was fighting the wind with all i had at doing 55 at 70 i could steer easily and was upright. Scary feeling but was much more in control.
