Kubota M9540 -- What's that Strange Metal Box on the Side?

Hi -- a neighbor inherited a tractor. It looks nice but there seems to be something extra on the side. I'm considering buying it from her, but I'd like to know if anyone knows what that rectangular steel box is beside where the operator's feet would go. Anyone know? Also, if that stays there, would it interfere with adding a bucket? Seems like it would. Alternatively, how difficult would it be to remove that box so that front implements can be used (especially a bucket)?

That looks like the hydraulic reservoir used with an articulated ditch mower with an auxiliary pump. Yes, all that can be removed for a loader.
* Be sure you know the full cost of installing a loader. Many times you're better off $ wise finding a tractor with it already on. I'm hearing Kubota loaders are hard to find.
* You'll also need a ROP if it's not with it. What else might have been removed/altered to mount the mower?
* Is this the size tractor you really need vs what's convenient? I've used it's smaller brother an M7040 and it's a good tractor.
* What's its history? I'm thinking it hasn't been taken real good care of. Why's that front tire running backwards, for example?

The tank has lines go to the front, what's on the front of the tractor?
Yes it could be removed and yes it would need to be removed to install a FEL (Front End Loader).

LA1353S is the Loader that goes to that tractor.
That's a $5k+ loader if you can find one.

Thanks for the help!! It's more tractor than I need for sure. Probably I'm gonna pass on it.

Thanks for the insights! Wow pricy! I should probably just find something less involved and less HP. I only have 7.4 acres.

That thing makes my 2650 look like a craftsman lawnmower. I could think of all kinds of stupid things to do with that ;)

One more pic. Looks like it has two rear remotes. Would be nice to have the extra power. I wonder what I could use the remotes for.

I have 10 acres with about 1/2 of it wooded. My LX2610HSD ( Rops) with the oversize R4 tires is the biggest tractor I was willing go for with my application. I don't need the extra PTO HP or the emission headaches of the LX3310. The 15-19.5 rear tiers hold about 310 pounds each in beet juice for ballast and traction is very good with them I just need to stay off of the septic drain field as it is pretty heavy for a big B series it weights 3,555 pounds with a 60" bucket
